It has been reported that the daughter of slain Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi set fire to the presidential palace in Algeria, where she was until recently taking refuge, according to Algeria's Ennahar newspaper.

From Al Arabiya:

[Aisha Qaddafi] had occasionally damaged furniture and parts of the residence when she was angry, but this latest incident, which occurred three days ago, was the most serious, the Algerian newspaper reported.

Qaddafi had previously destroyed the shelves of a library in the residence, and damaged pictures of Algerian President Abdul Aziz Bouteflika, Ennahar added. On one occasion, she reportedly attacked presidential guards who were trying to calm her down.

Aisha is Muammar Qaddafi's only daughter. Most notably, she joined the legal team that defended Saddam Hussein, and has earned the nickname of "the Claudia Schiffer of North Africa" due to her looks, according to The Telegraph.

We were a bit skeptical of this story at first, as it would be strange for it to appear now when Aisha left Algeria for Oman months ago. While she has indeed left for Oman, it appears that's because Algeria actually kicked her out, as the Telegraph and The Daily Mail confirmed.

From The Telegraph:

It has now emerged that Algerian authorities lost patience with Miss Gaddafi, a onetime UN Goodwill Ambassador, after she kept vandalising furniture and attacking guards out of rage over her father’s fate.

“She ended up blaming Algeria for many of her problems, and also began starting fires in the house,” said a government source in Algiers.
