Prison worker accused of helping two murderers escape has been arrested

Joyce Mitchell, the woman who reportedly confessed to helping two convicted murderers escape from the Clinton Correctional Facility in New York has been arrested and is awaiting arraignment.

Mitchell could face felony charges for her part in the escape, which has become one of longest prison breakouts on record.

Business Insider's Pam Engel earlier reported that the 51-year-old Mitchell told investigators she smuggled the power tools into the prison that Richard Matt and David Sweat used to break out.
