Superstar Salman Khan does all sorts of things, and given the star status he enjoys, everything he does becomes a hit amongst the masses. This time around, however, he has done something not for himself but for his upcoming movie Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

In what can be a new trend in Bollywood, Salman has shared the poster of the upcoming movie on his social media platforms. While there have been poster releases of movies earlier as well, they often carried the first looks of the leading actors, like it happened in Brothers, Phantom and Shaandaar recently. However, the poster of PRDP, which Salman had shared as the ‘logo’ of the movie, doesn’t show any character, albeit it just carries the name of the movie, written against a black background, with the names of the producer and the director.

In the good old days, people only saw the movie as it released in the cinema halls. When television started making its entry into every Indian household, there came the trend of releasing movie trailers and songs before the movie released. However, with the advent of social media, there has been a trend of releasing first look, motion poster, official trailer, dialogue promos, and two-three songs before the movie releases.

What remains to be seen is whether Salman Khan’s inadvertent tweet and Facebook post would set a new trend in Bollywood or not.
