The Porsche 911R is the new car-geek friendly, 500 horsepower, 200 MPH sports car that's ready to rip you apart.

Porsche's new sports car, which was revealed on Tuesday at the Geneva Motor Show, looks very much like the other 911s from this current generation, but if you glance at the spec sheet and look a little closer, there's quite a bit going on here.

The 911R's motor has been brought over from the more track-oriented Porsche 911 GT3 RS. That means a high-revving, high-output performance motor. Oh, and you won't find Porsche's fancy dual-clutch PDK automatic transmission here. This thing is manual only.

Yes. Manual only. How's that for awesome?

Here, it's not only the motor that makes the 911R special, it's also what it doesn't have. And that would be a lot of unnecessary weight.

Porsche dropped some pounds by using a carbon fiber hood and fenders, a magnesium roof, and by removing the air conditioning system, radio, and the two rear-seats completely. The A/C and radio can remain in place if requested. But who really needs that lame stuff?

Some body panels have been swapped over as well. The front splitter looks to have been brought over from the GT3 and the rear engine cover very much resembles the one from the 911 50th Anniversary special edition.

On the inside, the seats use Porsche's signature classic tartan fabric pattern in between the bolsters of carbon fiber, competition-looking seats, instead of the normal standard seats.

Tartan competition seats? Count me in.

If a barish-bones 911 with a relatively extreme amount of power sounds alright to you, be prepared to shell out about $185,000. Orders are being taken now and will begin delivery Summer 2016.
