A former Tucker Carlson producer has resigned after a rogue chyron text on Fox News called President Joe Biden a "wannabe dictator" as a result of the indictment of former President Donald Trump, AP reports.

Producer Alex McCaskill confirmed his exit from Fox News in an Instagram post. Fox News did not respond to Insider's request for comment, nor have they publicly responded to McCaskill's departure.

In a post to McCaskill's private Instagram account, he wrote: "Today was my last day at Fox."

"It's been a wild 10 years, and it was the best place I've ever worked because of the great people I met. But the time has come. I asked them to let me go, and they finally did. To all my friends there: I will miss you forever."

On Tuesday night, as Fox News aired footage of both former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, the rogue onscreen text read, "Wannabe dictator speaks at the White House after having his political rival arrested.",

A spokesperson for Fox News told Insider on Wednesday that "The chyron was taken down immediately and was addressed."

McCaskill has stayed at Fox after controversial host Tucker Carlson was fired from the network on April 24.

Carlson posted a 13-minute long video to Twitter about the "wannabe dictator" accusations and said, "The women who run the network panicked" and scolded the person who was responsible.

Carlson didn't name the McCaskill or any other member of the production team but said the person responsible was "considered one of the most capable persons in the building."

According to Carlson, the producer offered to resign with two weeks' notice but was told to leave immediately.

McCaskill was named this spring in a lawsuit filed by a former Fox News producer, Abby Grossberg, who also worked on Carlson's staff, AP reported.

Her lawsuit claimed McCaskill "habitually belittled female employees" at Fox News. He is alleged to have called a room provided for employees to pump breast milk a "waste of space" and should be replaced with a room for men to tan their testicles, according to the lawsuit.

Fox has denied allegations in Grossberg's lawsuit.
