Former President Donald Trump issued a rambling statement on Tuesday denying that he ordered the Department of Justice or Federal Election Commission to investigate "Saturday Night Live," after the Daily Beast on Tuesday reported that he did.

Trump called the story, "fabricated," and railed against, "late-night losers," arguing that he helped "SNL's" ratings during his tenure.

He also had choice words about Alec Baldwin's impression of him, saying, "the only one who could do it was Darrell Hammond."

"I do believe that the 100% one-sided shows should be considered an illegal campaign contribution from the Democrat party," he reiterated.

Trump had tweeted in March 2019 calling for federal agencies to investigate "Saturday Night Live."
