- A representative for the authority overseeing Washington, DC's airports told Insider that no one had been charged in connection with the incident.
A throng of supporters of President Donald Trump accosted Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham at Reagan National Airport on Friday. The Politico reporter Daniel Lippman and the conservative activist Mindy Robinson, who was in the crowd, posted videos of the interaction on Twitter.
In the video Lippman posted - which he said was shared by a source - a crowd of people could be seen gathering around a bench where Graham appeared to be talking on a cellphone.
At the beginning of the video, one person could be heard shouting "Traitor!" and "You're a liar!" while airport-security officers attempted to keep the group away from Graham.
A man could also be heard telling the officers: "I'm not going to touch him. I'm not going to do anything to him ... I just want to speak to him." Another asked Graham if he had anything to say.
Another person said, "You work for us!"
The camera then panned to show the crowd following Graham as security officers escorted him. People could be heard shouting "Traitor! Traitor!"
One woman in a black T-shirt with an "I love Trump" design on the front and a Q on the back (an apparent reference to the QAnon conspiracy-theory movement) yelled, with her mask pulled down to her chin, "One day he will not be able to walk down the street - it is today!"
Another man agreed. "Today's the day!" he said.
Robinson's video showed the crowd closing in on Graham, who walked with his head bowed and his mask pulled down, as Robinson shouted "You're a traitor!" "You knew it was rigged!" "Audit the vote, piece of s---!" and, finally, "Enjoy Gitmo, you f---ing a--hole!"
Robinson later tweeted that Graham "didn't make his flight."
Rob Yingling, a representative for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, told Insider: "I've seen the video from Twitter. Looks like it was taken at Reagan National. I have no further details, and it appears no one has been charged."
Graham's office did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
