The RNC just hired election denier Christina Bobb as a 'senior counsel for election integrity'
- The RNC hired pro-Trump attorney Christina Bobb as 'senior counsel for election integrity.'
- Bobb has spread false claims about the validity of Joe Biden's 2020 election victory.
A pro-Trump attorney who spread false theories about the legitimacy of the 2020 election has been hired by the Republican National Committee as senior counsel in a newly formed "election integrity" unit.
Christina Bobb said on X that she was "honored to be a part of the new team at the RNC," sharing a link to The Washington Post, which first reported the news.
Bobb's new role at the RNC comes as part of a restructuring that aligns the committee ever closer to Trump, including with the appointment of his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, as cochair.
In a Fox News clip that Bobb re-shared on Truth Social, Lara Trump outlined the committee's new "Election Integrity Division," saying: "We have to ensure that when people go vote, they feel like their vote counts.
She added: "We can never allow what happened in 2020 and the questions surrounding that election to ever happen again."
Bobb has long claimed that the 2020 election was stolen, including in her book "Stealing Your Vote: The Inside Story of the 2020 Election and What It Means for 2024."
She pushed this message both as an attorney for Donald Trump and in her former role as an on-air presenter for the far-right One America News network.
In 2021, Bobb was named in a defamation lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems against the network, as one of the presenters involved in spreading false claims.
Bobb also used her role at OAN to help raise more than $600,000 for an "audit" of the election process in Maricopa County, Arizona. The audit confirmed that Joe Biden won the state.
Despite this, pollsters found that the much-publicized effort had reinforced public doubt in election integrity.
Bobb also worked with Rudy Giuliani in the fake electors scheme aimed at overturning the electoral college in Trump's favor, as CNN reported.
This is now a pivotal aspect of Special Counsel Jack Smith's election obstruction case against the former president. Bobb has not been accused of any crimes.
Aside from her efforts to undermine the 2020 election, Bobb was also involved in defending Trump following the 2022 raid of Mar-a-Lago.
In 2022, as officials sought to retrieve classified documents from Trump's Florida home, Bobb signed a statement saying that a "diligent search" had been conducted and all materials returned to the US government — which turned out not to be true.
