Stormy Daniels mocks Trump, saying she'd rather be under her 'sexy man' than 'under arrest'
- Stormy Daniels celebrated former President Donald Trump's arrest on Tuesday.
- Replying to a derogatory tweet aimed at her, the adult film actress mocked Trump.
Stormy Daniels took to Twitter to celebrate after former President Donald Trump was formally charged in New York on Tuesday.
The adult film actress — who was a central figure in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's investigation into a hush money payment made to her — also made a point to hit back at her critics. One of Daniels' Tuesday tweets was a zinger that mocked Trump's legal woes, in response to a sexualized insult aimed at her.
"It's definitely more fun being under my sexy man instead of under arrest," she wrote.
Daniels was likely referring to her husband, fellow porn actor Barrett Blade.
This was not the first occasion where Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has reacted triumphantly to Trump's legal troubles.
In an interview with The Times of London on Friday, she said that she was "fully aware of the insanity" that a porn star was behind Trump's criminal charges.
"But it's also poetic; this pussy grabbed back," she told The Times of London. This appeared to be a reference to the 2005 "Access Hollywood" tape, where Trump was heard boasting about groping women and uttering the phrase "grab 'em by the pussy."
And after Trump was indicted on Thursday, Daniels tweeted jubilantly that orders for her #teamstormy merchandise were "pouring in."
In March, Daniels also engaged in another Twitter feud with her critics, one of whom accused her of being obsessed with Trump. Daniels responded to the Twitter user, saying that Trump was the one who was obsessed with her.
"He probably watches my movies on repeat which may be why he has so many typos. (Slippery fingers from lube and KFC)," per her tweet on March 19.
Trump on Tuesday was arrested in New York, and later in a Manhattan courtroom pleaded not guilty to 34 low-level felony charges.
The charges were filed against him by the Manhattan district attorney's office in connection with a lengthy investigation into a hush money payment made to Daniels.
Daniels says she had an affair with Trump in 2006, a year after he married Melania Trump. Donald Trump has denied the affair.
Representatives for Trump and Daniels did not immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment sent outside regular business hours.
