LIVE RESULTS: Kentucky holds US Senate, House, and state legislative primary elections
Kentucky is holding congressional and state legislative primaries on Tuesday. Polls closed at 6 p.m. ET.
For Senate, former state Rep. Charles Booker secured the Democratic nomination to challenge GOP Sen. Rand Paul in November. Booker unsuccessfully ran for the Democratic nomination for Senate to run against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in 2020, and will again be the underdog in 2022 against Paul.
And in the House, the most notable primary race of the night is the Democratic primary in Kentucky's Third District to replace retiring Democratic Rep. John Yarmuth, the influential chairman of the House Budget Committee.
State Senate Minority Leader Morgan McGarvey easily secured the Democratic nomination to represent the safely blue Louisville-based district over progressive candidate state Rep. Attica Scott.
