Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene denies she kicked an 18-year-old political activist in incident caught on video

• Marjorie Taylor Greene has denied claims she kicked a young political activist in Washington DC.
• The activist was one of several confronting the congresswoman about her support of gun rights.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has denied she kicked a young political activist while leaving a news conference in Washington, DC, on Thursday.

A video that has been widely viewed on social media – and shared by Rep. Greene – shows her walking from a news conference while arguing with activists about gun rights, which she staunchly defends.

Marianna Pecora, seen in a blue dress, confronts the Georgia Republican and asks her how the second amendment prevents gun violence.

As Pecora walks in front of the congresswoman, Greene says "excuse me, get out of the way, excuse me," before appearing to step on her heel. Pecora briefly stumbles and then accuses the congresswoman of kicking her.

Nick Dyer, Greene's communications director, tells the activists: "You're blocking a member of Congress. You can't block members of Congress."

According to Pecora's Twitter page, she is the deputy communications director of Voters Tomorrow, a Gen Z-led activist group.

She shared the same video to her Twitter page, as well as one from another angle, and implied that she was considering pressing charges.

Pecora told The Washington Post: "We were walking sort of as a group because we were having a conversation. I would say we were having what I would consider to be a pretty respectful conversation with her, and there was a group of people, so I kind of got pushed forward so I would still fit on the sidewalk."

"I was in front of her, and she started kicking me," she said.

Nick Dyer, Greene's spokesperson, denied the allegations in a statement to Insider. "The video shows nothing," he said.

Before her election to Congress, Greene was captured on video in 2018 harassing then-17-year-old Parkland school shooting survivor David Hogg on Capitol Hill shortly after the attack, calling him a "coward."

She has also previously stated children should be taught how to use firearms.

The far-right congresswoman has generated controversy for supporting the baseless QAnon conspiracy theory and promoting former President Donald Trump's false claims about election fraud.
