  • Melania Trump is turning to John Rogers, Executive VP at Goldman, for help during the transition.
  • Rogers and Trump worked together during her first term as First Lady.

Former and future First Lady Melania Trump is turning to John Rogers, a partner at Goldman Sachs, for staffing advice during the transition to the White House, Semafor reports.

Rogers is Goldman's Executive Vice President and Secretary to the Board of Directors, according to the company's website. He's also the chair of the White House Historical Association and his political history stretches back to the 1980s, when he was an assistant to former President Ronald Reagan.

Trump and Rogers have worked together before, when he served as advisor during her first term as first lady. Then, he offered advice on personnel and ceremonial planning. Rogers made the guest list for various state dinners the Trumps held.

Described by CNBC as a "power broker" both at Goldman and in political circles, Rogers is another example of how Wall Street is weaving itself into a second Trump administration.

Representatives for Melania Trump and Goldman Sachs did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
