Melania Trump says she stands behind her husband's 2024 presidential bid and believes he can lead the country 'with love and strength'

Former First Lady Melania Trump on Tuesday said she stood behind former President Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign, praising "the tremendous success" of his previous term in office as he seeks the White House for the third time.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, she said it would be a "privilege" to assume her old role once again and expressed confidence in her husband's lastest bid to occupy the Oval Office.
"My husband achieved tremendous success in his first administration, and he can lead us toward greatness and prosperity once again," she told the outlet. "He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength."
Melania Trump said that if her husband were to win the general election next year, she would again focus on children's issues and perform work to help give them the "support and resources they need to reach their full potential."
The former first lady attended her husband's 2024 campaign launch last November, but by and large has not been a significant presence on the trail thus far.
Trump in recent months has visited the key presidential primary states of New Hampshire and South Carolina, as well as Iowa, home to the pivotal presidential caucuses, in an effort to connect with GOP voters and officials as he seeks to lock down the Republican nomination. The former president continues to hold a significant lead in most major polling, and his advantage widened after he was indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney's office over his involvement in a hush-money payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in advance of the 2016 presidential election.
Besides Trump, the major Republican contenders in the race so far include former Govs. Nikki Haley of South Carolina and Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder.
But Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida — who is expected to enter the race in the coming weeks — remains Trump's most formidable potential opponent.
