Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said she would be "honored" if former President Donald Trump asked her to join his ticket in 2024 should he decide to run again, Newsweek reported.

A video of an interview with conservative media network Real America's Voice, shared on Twitter by the left-wing activist account Patriot Takes, shows Greene speaking during last week's Turning Point USA Student Action Summit.

In the interview, Greene is asked what she makes of conversations floating her as a potential running mate to Trump in 2024. She responded that she would "definitely give that some strong consideration."

Greene moved on to praise the former president. "I love President Trump. I never hide that fact. I think he's wonderful," she said. "I have a great relationship with him. I talk him to frequently. I'm so thankful for him and his family, as we all are, and I defend him all the time,"

Greene added that she would "fight for that man because he fought for us" and described him as the kind of president "we need back."

The Georgia Republican concluded by saying that "of course" she would be "honored" to join his ticket if asked.

Trump has not formally announced that he is running in 2024 but has teased that he plans to several times. Recent photos of Eric Trump's golf bag, which had "Trump 2024" stitched on it.

Trump has suggested that he would not tap former Vice President Mike Pence as his running mate again, telling the Washington Examiner in March: "I don't think the people would accept it."

Their relationship famously deteriorated after Pence refused to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Greene is just one of the several names being floated as a possible replacement for 2024. Insider reported that Gov. Kristi Noem, Sen. Tim Scott, and even family members are leading candidates.
