The Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden, will win three electoral votes in Maine, with a win in the 1st Congressional District and in the state as a whole, per Decision Desk HQ.

The state is one of two that divide their electoral votes among congressional districts, and the state's rural 2nd Congressional District will be casting its lone vote for President Donald Trump.

Maine voted for a Democrat in six of the past 12 presidential elections before 2020, including a split of its electoral votes in 2016. The state is home to competitive down-ballot races in the Senate and the 2nd District.

Maine is firmly in Democratic control, with Democrats holding both chambers of the state legislature and the governorship. The state's congressional delegation is split: one Independent, one Republican, and two Democrats. Maine was not expected by analysts to be competitive except for its 2nd District electoral vote.
