Live Results: Pennsylvania votes in congressional and state elections
Pennsylvania has hosted some of the most hard-fought and competitive races of the entire cycle.
The state lost a congressional seat in the most recent redistricting, and this year will elect 17 members of Congress. Four of those races — contests in Pennsylvania's 7th District, 8th District, 12th District and 17th District — are seen as especially competitive in a cycle in which Democrats and Republicans are battling for control of the US House.
Pennsylvania also has two of the marquee races of this cycle happening at the statewide level. In the state's open gubernatorial race, Democrat Josh Shapiro faces off against Republican Doug Mastriano. And in its open US Senate race, Republican Mehmet Oz is battling Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman in a race that could be among the nation's closest — with the winner likely contributing to whether Democrats or Republicans control the US Senate for the next two years.
Polls closed in the state at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
