Live Results: Michigan votes in congressional and state elections
Politics1 min read

Michigan is one of the most consequential states in this midterm election, with the state's 13 congressional seats up for election. Four of them — races in the 3rd District, 7th District, 8th District and 10th District — will have national implications given their competitive nature and the broader nationwide contest for control of the House of Representatives.

Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is up for re-election in a race that has significant implications for abortion access in the state. Voters will also vote on Proposal 22-3, which would enshrine the right to an abortion in the state's constitution and Proposal 2, which would enshrine certain rights about voting in the constitution, as well.

Polls close in the state at 8 p.m. local time. Given the state has multiple timezones, the first polls close at 8 p.m. EST and the last polls close at 9 p.m. EST.
