Jon Stewart said that during the ABC primetime presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris managed to hit former President Donald Trump where it hurts.

"I'm going to invite you to attend one of Donald Trump's rallies," Harris said during their September 10 showdown.

"He will talk about 'windmills cause cancer.' And what you will also notice is that people start leaving his rallies early out of exhaustion and boredom," Harris said.

"Folks, the eagle has landed," Stewart said, sitting next to a projection of a still image of Trump looking visibly angry after Harris' jab.

"She has attacked what is Donald Trump's most cherished family member — his rally crowds," Stewart said.

"The Daily Show" host then argued that Trump could have stayed on message. But that's not what Trump did.

Instead, the former president responded that he has "the biggest rallies." He then segued into a racist rant about Haitian immigrants eating pets in Ohio, a claim that ABC's moderators debunked on live TV.

"What the fuck just happened?" Stewart said of Trump's dog-eating claims.

Stewart then compared Trump to Abe Simpson, a character best known for being the subject of the "Old Man Yells at Cloud" meme.

The Harris campaign now wants a second debate with Trump. For his part, Trump says he "wouldn't mind" facing off against Harris again — but he hasn't agreed to another debate date yet.

Representatives for Trump and Harris did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Business Insider, sent outside regular office hours.
