- Joe Biden gave Architectural Digest a tour of the Oval Office in the White House.
- He pointed out items of significance like a bust of Rosa Parks and a rock from the moon.
In a video tour for Architectural Digest published Friday, President Joe Biden shared his collection of sentimental and historical furnishings in the Oval Office.
Every new US president gets to redecorate the Oval Office and make it their own. Biden chose to fill the space with items "that represent why I got into public life to begin with," he told Architectural Digest, including busts of civil-rights heroes Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr., as well as politician Robert F. Kennedy and labor leader Cesar Chavez.
In addition to the images of famous activists, the Oval Office is full of family photos. Biden showed snapshots from his daughter Ashley's wedding, as well as photos of his late mother and grandchildren.
Biden also showed off a rock from the moon, an Irish rugby ball, and the family Bible he's used every time he's been sworn into public office.
He ended the tour by giving out homemade chocolate-chip cookies wrapped in plastic with a gold presidential-seal sticker.
