The supermodel Karlie Kloss, who is married to Jared Kushner's brother, will participate in a campaign event for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Thursday.

The event will promote the former vice president's 2020 agenda on women and education, focusing on young women in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math, otherwise known as STEAM. Kloss will be joined by Girls Who Code founder Reshma Saujani and other speakers.

"For those who know Karlie, this event makes a lot of sense," a source close to Kloss told People. "She cares deeply about the future of women in STEAM and has always supported the candidates who stand for the issues she's passionate about."

Though she's linked to President Donald Trump, Kloss identifies as a liberal, along with her husband, Joshua Kushner, a venture capitalist and entrepreneur. They married in 2018.

Kloss once described the political differences among family members in an interview with British Vogue as "hard" but said she chose "to focus on the values that I share with my husband, and those are the same liberal values that I was raised with and that have guided me throughout my life."

The couple appeared together at the 2018 March for Our Lives protest against gun violence in Washington, DC, and Joshua Kushner was spotted at the 2017 Women's March on the day of Trump's inauguration, though he told protesters he was there to observe.

"I'm sure I'm not the only person in this country who does not necessarily agree with their family on politics," Kloss said earlier this year. "I voted as a Democrat in 2016 and I plan to do the same in 2020."
