- Republicans in the House introduced a bill to condemn President Joe Biden's immigration policies.
- Fourteen Democrats voted in favor of the resolution, many of whom represent swing districts.
Fourteen Democrats in the House of Representatives joined with their Republican colleagues to pass a resolution denouncing President Joe Biden's border policy and "condemning the national security and public safety crisis along the southwest border."
The non-binding resolution urges Biden to "end his administration's open-borders policies."
US Customs and Border Protection reported record numbers of apprehensions at the southern border in 2021, 2022, and 2023. On several days in December, the number of migrants apprehended at the border reached 10,000. While Republicans have been hammering Biden over the border throughout his presidency, the issue has drawn criticism from both parties.
Every Republican who voted on the resolution, 211, voted in favor, while 187 Democrats voted against it. The 14 Democrats who voted to pass the resolution generally represent swing districts, while one, Rep. Colin Allred, is running for the US Senate in Texas.
Here are all the Democratic representatives who voted in favor:
Colin Allred of Texas
Yadira Caraveo of Colorado

Jared Golden of Maine

Greg Landsman of Ohio
