  • A Georgia grand jury indicted former President Donald Trump and associates for their alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
  • The indictment notes 161 different acts of racketeering activity by Trump and his associates as part of their alleged violations of Georgia's RICO Act.

On Monday evening, a grand jury in Georgia indicted former President Donald Trump and several of his associates with a litany of felony charges related to his pursuit to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

As part of the list of felony charges issued to Trump, the grand jury charged him and his associates with violations of the Georgia RICO Act, a law designed to target gangs and mafia groups but has been more broadly used in Georgia in recent years.

In the indictment, District Attorney Fani Willis noted 161 acts of racketeering activity by Trump and his associates as part of their alleged violations of Georgia's RICO Act.

Included in the 161 acts are 12 tweets from Trump's personal Twitter account, @realDonaldTrump. While Trump may not have written each tweet himself, the indictment specifically notes the listed tweets were "caused to be tweeted" by Trump.

The indictment also includes a tweet from Trump's attorney, Rudy Giuliani, which the indictment claims was an "overt act in furtherance of the conspiracy."

Unrelated to new charges brought against Trump and his associates in Georgia, federal prosecutors in the federal Washington, DC, case against Trump successfully obtained a search warrant for records relating to the former president's Twitter account.

Below are the 12 tweets posted to the @realDonaldTrump account that Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis and a grand jury say further the former president's criminal conspiracy:
