  • Josef Mengele was a Nazi doctor who performed experiments on prisoners in concentration camps.
  • Fox Nation host Lara Logan claimed "people all across the world" compare Dr. Anthony Fauci to Mengele.

During Fox News Primetime on Monday, Lara Logan, Fox Nation host of "Lara Logan Has No Agenda," compared National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci to Josef Mengele, an infamous Nazi doctor who conducted experiments on prisoners at Auschwitz-Birkenau during World War II.

"This is what people say to me, that he doesn't represent science to them. He represents Joseph Mengele, the Nazi doctor who did experiments on Jews during the Second World War and in the concentration camps. And I am talking about people all across the world are saying this," Logan said.

When Fox News host Pete Hegseth asked Logan about the emergence of the new Omicron variant, she criticized vaccination mandates and said the response to COVID-19, which she baselessly claimed has death rates comparable to seasonal flu, has been exaggerated.

"Really now, there is no justification for putting people out of their jobs or forcing vaccine mandates for a disease that ultimately is very treatable," Logan said.

Known as the "Angel of Death," Mengele conducted an incalculable number of experiments on prisoners, including forced insemination, unnecessary amputation of limbs, removal of organs without anesthesia, sterilization, and euthanasia, according to "Seeing Auschwitz," a traveling exhibition made in collaboration with the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum.

During the Nuremberg trials, prosecutors of Nazi war criminals claimed there were as many as half a million victims of medical abuses under Nazism, according to "Nazi Medicine and the Nuremberg Trials."

Mengele, however, fled to Brazil after the war and was never prosecuted for his crimes against humanity.

Insider has reached out to Fox Nation and Fauci for comment.
