A pregnant woman said Lauren Boebert called her a 'sad and miserable person' for reporting the congresswoman to an usher after she refused to stop vaping during 'Beetlejuice'
- Lauren Boebert was kicked out of a musical performance over the weekend.
- Boebert was reportedly vaping during the show, which her campaign has denied.
A pregnant Colorado woman said she sat behind GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert at a musical performance of "Beetlejuice" where she recounted that the lawmaker wouldn't stop vaping even when asked.
On Tuesday, the Denver Post reported that Boebert was kicked out of a performance on September 10 at the Buell Theatre. The Post reported that she and a person with her were escorted out of the theatre after venue workers claimed she was taking photos on her phone mid-show, vaping, and loudly "causing a disturbance."
Whie Boebert's campaign manager denied she had vaped during the performance, he confirmed she was present and boisterous at the show in a tongue-in-cheek response to the Denver Post: "I can confirm the stunning and salacious rumors: in her personal time, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is indeed a supporter of the performing arts (gasp!) and, to the dismay of a select few, enthusiastically enjoyed a weekend performance of 'Beetlejuice.'"
One person with intimate knowledge of the showing — a pregnant woman sitting behind Boebert — told the Post that she saw Boebert vaping and asked her to stop, which the legislator refused to do, telling her, "No."
The pregnant woman, whose name the Post did not release because she feared "backlash" from Boebert and her supporters, said she complained to the usher about Boebert's conduct at intermission and when she returned to her seat, she said Boebert took aim at her and called her a "sad and miserable person."
According to the police report from the incident, Boebert later threatened some of the theatre's workers as she was escorted out of the building, telling them things like, "Do you know who I am," "I will be contacting the mayor," and "'I am on the board."
Surveillance footage shows Boebert giving the middle finger to an usher as she was walked out of the building.
Boebert's campaign did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
