Tucker Carlson has broken his silence after his bombshell ouster from Fox News.

"Retirement is going great so far," the 53-year-old axed star host of the conservative media powerhouse told the DailyMail.com as he left his beachside mansion in Boca Grande, Florida, on Tuesday night.

Carlson was all smiles as he rode in a golf cart alongside his wife of more than three decades, Susan Andrews, photos published by DailyMail.com show.

"I haven't eaten dinner with my wife on a weeknight in seven years," Carlson told the news outlet.

When pressed on his plans for the future, Carlson joked, "Appetizers plus entree," before the father-of-four darted off in the golf cart.

Fox News announced in a statement on Monday that Carlson — who had a nearly 15-year career at the network — and the cable news giant had "agreed to part ways."

Carlson was reportedly blindsided by Fox News' decision to cut ties with him and was informed of the move just 10 minutes before the network released the brief statement, sources told The Wall Street Journal.

The media personality took over the primetime slot at Fox News in 2017, ultimately bringing in an average of more than 3 million viewers each night to his popular and controversial show, "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

Carlson never got the chance to say goodbye to his audience, thanks to his sudden ousting — and seemingly unbeknownst to him, his last show was on Friday.

Carlson has not returned requests for comment by Insider.
