Schumer trolls Trump's praise-filled cabinet meeting by making a spoof video of his own
During that meeting, Trump sat as his cabinet leaders went around in a circle praising the administration and the president for the first few months of Trump's presidency.
"On behalf of the entire senior staff around you Mr. President, we thank you for the opportunity and the blessing that you've given us to serve your agenda and the American people," White House chief of staff Reince Priebus said in the meeting.
Vice President Mike Pence, the first member of Trump's team to speak in the meeting, called his role in the administration "the greatest privilege" of his life.
Energy Secretary Rick Perry said "my hats off to" Trump for pulling out of the Paris climate deal "and sending a clear message around the world."
Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross thanked Trump "for the opportunity to help fix the trade deficit."
And Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue noted he "just got back from Mississippi and they like [Trump] there."
Schumer sat around top aides at a similar boardroom table in his spoof video of the meeting.
"I want to thank everybody for coming," Schumer said. "I just thought we'd go around the room. Lucy, how'd we do on the Sunday show yesterday?"
"Your tone was perfect," the aide responded. "You were right on message."
"Michelle, how'd my hair look coming out of the gym this morning?" he asked the aide to his right.
"You have great hair," she said. "Nobody has better hair than you."
A third aide cut in.
"You know, before we go any further, I just want to say thank you for the opportunity and blessing to serve your agenda," he said.
The New York Democrat and his aides then broke out in laughter.
