'We cannot let him get away with it': Joe Biden calls for Trump's impeachment for the first time

Former Vice President Joe Biden announced his support for House Democrats' impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump in a campaign speech on Wednesday.

"Donald Trump has violated his oath of office, betrayed this nation and committed impeachable acts," Biden told a crowd in New Hampshire. "He should be impeached."

He added that Trump is "shooting holes in the Constitution, and we cannot let him get away with it."

Biden went on, "Trump isn't just testing us, he's laughing at us. He has no sense of decency ... We have to prove him wrong. We have to prove that [we] are up to this moment, and this is an especially dangerous moment for this nation."

The president was quick to respond to Biden on Wednesday, repeating his unfounded accusations that Biden and his son Hunter engaged in corrupt activity in Ukraine.

"So pathetic to see Sleepy Joe Biden, who with his son, Hunter, and to the detriment of the American Taxpayer, has ripped off at least two countries for millions of dollars, calling for my impeachment - and I did nothing wrong," Trumpm tweeted. "Joe's Failing Campaign gave him no other choice!

The Biden campaign did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
