North Carolina House primary results:
What's at stake:
The biggest race of the night will be the Democratic primary for US Senate in North Carolina, but other important House primaries are also taking place.
North Carolina recently re-drew the boundaries of its 13 congressional districts after a court ruled that the state's previous map, which favored Republicans 10-3, was gerrymandered and ordered the legislature to come up with fairer districts.
The new map created two more likely Democratic districts, and the state's map now advantages Republicans by a smaller margin of 8 Republican-leaning seats to five Democratic-leaning seats.
Tonight, there will be Democratic primaries to watch in the state's new 2nd district and new 6th district, both of which now lean Democratic.
