Joe Biden's heated 'you're full of s--t' video about gun rights is another example of the misleading claims about his campaign

Former Vice President Joe Biden had a testy exchange with employees and union workers at a Fiat Chrysler assembly plant, during a campaign stop in Detroit, Michigan, on Tuesday morning.

In a viral video that received nearly three million views, Biden is seen huddled around by people in construction hats. The video shows Biden already engaged in a debate with one of the men.

"You are actively trying to amend your Second Amendment right and take away our guns," the man said.

"You're full of s---," Biden replied, adding that "I support the Second Amendment."

"The Second Amendment - just like right now, if you yelled 'fire,' that's not free speech," Biden added, referring to an analogy on First Amendment rights.

Biden continued to suggest that he supported the Second Amendment and pointed to his ownership of firearms.

"I have a shotgun, I have a 20-gauge, a 12-gauge," Biden said. "My sons hunt. Guess what? You're not allowed to own any weapons. I'm not taking your gun away at all."

The man in the construction hat continued to debate Biden by alleging Biden once said he was going to confiscate firearms.

"You were with Beto when you said you were going to take our guns," the man said.

The man's allegation is identical to misleading videos that surfaced on Facebook in recent weeks. In several of these videos that have been identified by Facebook as "partly false information," Biden and former Democratic Rep. Beto O'Rourke of Texas are seen together at a campaign rally in Dallas, Texas, earlier in March.

The video titles suggest that "Joe Biden says if he wins he's coming for our guns," and have been shared thousands of times by purportedly conservative groups. But Biden never explicitly says he would be confiscating firearms in the videos, and instead, notes he would appoint O'Rourke to "take care of the gun problem."

"You're going to be the one who leads this effort," Biden said to O'Rourke.

O'Rourke has been a outspoken supporter of gun control, and during his brief presidential run threatened to confiscate "your AR-15, your AK-47."

Other misleading videos of Biden have surfaced on social media platforms. One of these videos suggested Biden had formally endorsed Trump, and was subsequently shared by White House social media director Dan Scavino and President Donald Trump. That video was viewed over 6.7 million times.

Biden appeared to be aware of the misleading videos and adamantly said he "did not say that."

"It's a viral video like the other ones they're putting out that are simply a lie," Biden said to the man.

Biden later added, "we'll take your AR-14s away," referring to the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, to which the man responded by waving his hand: "This is not o.k."

"Don't try me ... pal," Biden said. "Do you want to go outside?"

Biden has supported a federal gun buyback program in an effort to reduce the number of firearms circulating in the US. In addition to the program, Biden supports universal background checks and prohibiting the ownership or guns from people who have been convicted of hate crimes.
