Former Mayor Pete Buttigieg has a stronger case to make for his electability against President Donald Trump after his strong showing in the Iowa caucus, but that hasn't translated to a higher approval rating, according to new Insider polling.
Among registered Democrats likely to vote in their state's primary, belief in Buttigieg's electability jumped from 26% prior to the Iowa caucus to 36% days after the caucus. Awareness of Buttigieg has also jumped to about 66%, up from an average of 59% over the last five Insider polls.

Democrats' satisfaction with a potential Buttigieg presidency stayed flat at 48% - the mayor's average satisfaction rate over Insider's last 10 polls is 49%.

The 38-year-old former mayor ate into former Vice President Joe Biden's support in Iowa and he's expected to do the same in New Hampshire, which goes to the polls on Tuesday.
Buttigieg is polling in second in New Hampshire, behind Sen. Bernie Sanders - who beat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 New Hampshire primary with 60% of the vote - is poised to win the state.
