EDUCATION

1. Manu Gulati
Mentor Teacher Parent school - SKV No. 2 Punjabi Bagh

Born and Brought up in Delhi, Ms Manu Gulati has an M. ED from Delhi University and is currently pursuing her PhD from Jamia Millia Islamia with her topic “Enhancing Spoken English of Delhi Govt. school students” With a focus on improving the English speaking skills of the students of Delhi Govt. schools, she started her career as a teacher in the year 2004. Having briefly worked with a private school and a school run by the MCD, she finally started her stint with the Delhi Govt. schools in the year 2011. When asked about her experiences as a school teacher, she proudly mentions that the AAP model of education focuses not just on the academic excellence of students but also focuses on developing psychological and emotional resilience in the students. Winner of Martha Farrell Award 2019 for women empowerment. Recipient of National Teachers Award , 2018- by MHRD, Govt. of India. Recipient of National ICT Award for School Teachers, 2015- by MHRD, Govt. of India. Acknowledged by Hon’ble Deputy CM of Delhi, Shri Manish Sisodia in 2018 for her contribution in the field of Education. Being awarded the Fulbright Teaching scholarship, she traveled to the US and studied their education model. It helped her gain a global perspective on teaching practices adopted in schools. “I am honored to have been invited to the oath taking ceremony of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi. I am grateful to be the face of the entire teachers’ community at the occasion.,” she added.


2. Murari Jha
Mentor Teacher Parent School- Sarvodaya vidyalaya No. 3, Sector 7, R. K. Puram

Having worked as a teacher for 10 years, he went on to be appointed as a Mentor teacher for the Delhi Govt. schools. He is a recipient of the Education Minister's Special Award (year- 2017). Committed to his work, and aligned with the vision of the AAP Government to improve Delhi Government schools’ education model, he was also awarded the the Fulbright Teaching scholarship, in the year 2018. He, along with his team of five other teachers, went on to write a book on his experiences while studying various teaching methodologies and classroom techniques adopted by schools in the US. The name of the book is ‘The Fulbright Experience’. He represents around 200 Mentor Teachers of Delhi’s government school who have played a leading role in implementation of all curriculum reforms. “I am very excited and honored to be a part of this oath taking ceremony. It is a revolution in the sphere of Education that the AAP government has brought about. And I am happy to be a part of it.”

3. Dr Chitender Singh Verma
HOS (Head of School) Principal, Kautilya Govt. Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Chirag Enclave, New Delhi

Dr. C. S. Verma holds M.Sc. PhD in Zoology from Meerut University. He has more than five years of experience as HOS of Kautilya Govt. Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya and has worked as a teacher for more than 18 years. He has been a core member of the Happiness curriculum committee, and played an integral part in designing its framework. The team especially focussed on the kind of stories included in the curriculum, and worked on including reflective questions for the children. Dr. C. S. Verma also studied the responses of the children on the same. Dr. C. S. Verma has also received the State Best Teacher award from Delhi Govt. in the year 2013. And he has visited the prestigious Cambridge University as a part of their training programme. Apart from this, he has won a string of National and state level awards in the field of Education. “I can't explain in words. I am very happy and honored to have been called to be a part of the oath taking ceremony. Everyone at my school is excited as I am representing them as well as the entire community of Principals who have worked hard to improve Delhi’s government schools.”

4. Vijay Kumar
Studying at IIT Delhi, Physics Enthusiast, Delhi government school alumnus and Beneficiary of Jai Bhim Mukhya-mantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana

An ex-student of Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya , Paschim Vihar, Vijay Kumar had dreamt of cracking the IIT-JEE examinations and getting placed in his dream college ,i.e, IIT Delhi. The Delhi Government gave wings to the dreams of this meritorious student through its Jai Bhim Mukhya-mantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana. Currently studying in IIT Delhi, where he secured admission last year, Vijay Kumar says that he wouldn’t have done it without the help of this scheme. “For students like me, who hail from poor sections of the society, we cannot afford the fees of coaching institutes. This is where the Delhi Govt. helped me by paying my fees.” He cleared IIT JEE 2019 and secured a rank of 918. He is currently studying at IIT Delhi and wishes to become an Electrical Engineer one day. “I feel excited to be a part of the oath-taking ceremony. I want to thank Kejriwal ji for having helped me realise my dream of studying in the IITs one day.It would be an honor to represent the students’ from underprivileged sections of the society who are carving their dreams with the help of the Jai Bheem Yojana”.

5. Shashi
Student at Lady Hardinge Medical College Cleared NEET Medical

Beneficiary of Jai Bhim Mukhya-mantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana Shashi, daughter of Akhilesh Kumar Gaur cracked the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - NEET (Medical entrance exam) in the year 2019. She is currently a first year MBBS student at Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi. Hailing from an economically weaker section of the society, Shashi’s family could not afford her coaching fees. She enrolled herself for a free coaching scheme ‘Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana’ offered by the Delhi government in the year 2018 and successfully cracked NEET in the year 2019. Living in a one room set at Jahangirpuri with her parents and three siblings (one younger sister and two younger brothers), Shashi dreams of becoming an oncologist one day. Shashi is the first candidate who has successfully cracked NEET under the Delhi Govt. scheme. “I feel excited to have been invited to such a prestigious ceremony. I also want to thank the Hon’ble CM of Delhi for running the Jai Bhim scheme as it helped me achieve my dreams. It is great to be there as a face of all those students hailing from socially and economically weaker sections of society here at the event. Many of us are able to achieve our dreams with the help of the Jai Bheem scheme,” said Shashi.

6. Harshita (Student)

Born and brought up in Delhi, Harshita is a class 12th student of RPVV, Sector 10, Dwarka. Her parents are teachers by profession and she resides in Najafgarh with her family. Harshita’s favorite subject is Chemistry and has always been a topper in the subject. She wants to prepare and get into civil services one day. Represented Delhi in the 4th International Olympiad of Metropolises in Moscow. She won a bronze medal in Chemistry. She along with her teammate Satyam became the first team from a Delhi government school to bag a medal at an international olympiad. She secured 99.9 percentile in Joint Entrance Examination 2019. She was also a part of the Student Exchange Program and has visited Tokyo, Japan in the year 2019. Harshita is a very hardworking student. She had topped the 10th Board Examinations, and secured highest marks among all other Delhi Govt. school students. “It is a surreal feeling. I cannot believe that I have been called to be a part of the oath-taking ceremony of our Hon’ble CM. But it is also a proud moment for all my schoolmates. It feels great to represent all my friends who are studying at Delhi Govt. schools at a huge platform like this,” she said.

7. Sumit Nagal
International Tennis Player

Sumit is a student of class 12 and it has studied in Delhi government school from class 1 to 10. He was a good student and from the very childhood he always wanted to play tennis. Coming from a poor family he was not sure how to pursue his dream to be a tennis player. In Delhi government school he used to play tennis and the teachers always encouraged him to play more. Delhi chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal under Delhi government scheme for the budding players give him support in terms of money. Now sumit is playing international standard tennis. “I am always grateful to the Delhi government run by the Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi chief Minister Mr Arvind Kejriwal for supporting me to play tennis.. Today whatever I have achieved it has support from the Delhi govt. Today when I represent India on the international level I feel proud of Delhi and my school. I hope many players like me will get the support of the government and represent the nation at the international level.”

8. Laxmi Kant Sharma
Estate manager

The Delhi government hires retired personnel from various government departments for the post of estate manager on contractual basis in government-run schools. Laxmi Kant Sharma has been working as an estate manager at SKV Anand Vihar, D Block , New Delhi since the year 2016. He is a retired Air Force personnel having served the country for 20 years. He resides in Shalimar Garden with his wife and daughter. Ex-service man- Air Force.He served in the Air Force for 20 years. .He now works as an estate manager overseeing the infrastructure and maintenance of the school. He looks after the safety and security of the students along with overseeing other activities as assigned by the Principal. “It is a golden opportunity for me to be a face of the entire retired personnel community who have been given a second chance to work by the Delhi Government,” he said.

HEALTH

9. Sonu Gautam
Farishtey

Sonu Gautam is a Hotel Management graduate who did a few of the corporate jobs before immersing himself completely in social welfare. He has co-founded an NGO called “Bhaichara Foundation” where a bunch of 6-7 people have come together to help those in need. From blood donation to providing study materials to students, they help everyone who needs support. He has come like a true “Farishta” for many people and has already received 5 certificates from the Delhi Government under the Farishtey Scheme. He never differentiates among people while saving their lives. In 2018, on Dussehra, he saw a Police Officer badly injured and lying unattended at NH 24 highway. While everyone around him was just being a mere spectator, he decided to take him to the hospital and saved his life. In 2019, he was felicitated by the Chief Minister himself under the Farishtey Scheme. He says he can never forget that day as his dedication to helping others has profoundly increased after that. He says “He is looking forward to seeing Mr. Kejriwal become the chief minister for the third time in a row and is very excited to become a part of this event. I hope my story and that of others recognized under Farishtey scheme encourages all the people of Delhi to be Farishteys and help whosoever is in need.”.

10. Dr. Alka
Mohalla Clinic Doctor

Dr. Alka Choudhary cannot stop gushing about how proud she is of being in charge of the first Mohalla Clinic. She says it’s something extremely close to her heart. She started her career back in 1997 after finishing her MBBS degree. She worked with hospitals like Safdarjung and Guru Gobind Singh Government Hospital before joining Mohalla Clinic. She is currently catering to a population of 10,000 people in Peeragarhi. Dr. Alka has cherished every single day of working at Mohalla Clinic in the last 5 years. She has been able to cater to some of the major issues like drug abuse, violence against women, immunization, female/male sterilization, menstrual hygiene awareness, malnutrition among many others. She says we work as per our patient’s convenience not as per our schedule. She makes sure to receive each and every patient’s call even during the late-night hours. She says “what is the use of these counseling sessions when we are not available for them when they need us the most” Dr. Alka says “I would love to witness such an event and will continue to spread as much awareness as I can to make herself useful for the people of Delhi. I am proud to represent my community of Mohalla Clinic doctors who have built a unique, innovative primary healthcare model that the entire world is talking about”.

11. Dr. Brijesh Kumar
Medical Superintendent

Dr. Brijesh has been working as a Medical Superintendent at Shri Dada Dev Matri Avum Shishu Chikitsalaya, Dabri for the last five years. He has done MD in Pediatrics from the All India Institute of Medical Science. His wife is a Pathologist and his daughter is a dentist at Boston University. Before coming here, Dr Brijesh worked as Specialist Paediatrician in the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for two years. Under his supervision, hospital received the National Quality Assurance Standards certificate (NQAS) in April 2019 from Honourable Health Minister (State), Government of India; Entry Level NABH Accreditation Certificate for 2017-2019 from Quality Council of India; Kayakalp Award (First in Delhi) from Honourable Health Minister, Government of India in 2016; SKOCH Order of Merit Award in 2017 and 2018 for Innovative Health Programs and Kayakalp Commendation Awards from Honourable Health Minister, Government of Delhi in 2015, 2017 and 2018. He received the State Award for the year 2014-15 for meritorious services in the field of healthcare in Delhi from the Honourable Health Minister, Government of Delhi on 18th February 2019. Dr Brijesh says “I am thrilled and honoured to be a part of this oath-taking ceremony. I appreciate the kind of encouragement we are getting from this government. I am looking forward to representing my community of doctors”.

12. Yudhishtir Rathee
Bike Ambulance

Since 1994 Yudhishtir Rathee has been doing the public service of saving every precious life. He is currently working as an Assistant Ambulance Officer. He has 3 children, 1 of his daughter is Economics Graduate and is currently working as a teacher in Government School, his other daughter is working as a staff nurse at Safdarjung Hospital and his son is pursuing engineering from Delhi Technical University. He feels it’s his noble work that is responsible for his children’s flourishing careers. He is a graduate in B.Sc. and has won an NCC certificate as well in his early days. Yudhishtir feels every day is an achievement for him when he gets to save a life. Earlier, there were only conventional models of ambulance services but eventually when the traffic became more and more congested its started creating a problem for ambulances to reach victims on-time. That’s when Bike Ambulances came in the picture. Every day Yudhishtir starts his day realizing the importance of the “golden hour” for his patients. This is the reason he continuously imparts first-aid training in various schools as well as offices. He is associated with the Delhi Disaster Management. He says “I am absolutely delighted to witness this oath-taking ceremony. I am excited to represent my community of paramedics in this event”.

SOCIAL WELFARE

13. Minakshi
Wife of a Jawan (soldier), Martyr Fund Cr-1

Minakshi is the wife of martyr Delhi Police officer Dinesh Kumar. Minakshi and Dinesh have two kids Ishita Puniya and Avishka Puniya. Last year, on a car accident Dinesh died while working at the Geeta Colony flyover. Minakshi stays in Patparganj. Life is not very easy for Minakshi but she trying her best. Minakshi wants her children will study at Delhi University and work in an established company. This was also the dream of Dinesh. I am very happy and proud of the AAP govt because they decided to provide this Martyr Fund for Dinesh. I am thankful to Mr Arvind Kejriwal because he is the only one who is empathetic for the Martyrs’ families. My daughters and I wish Mr. Kejriwal good luck for this new tenure.

14. Suman
Wife of a firefighter, Martyr Fund Cr-1

Suman is the wife of late firefighter Hariom Gahlot. Hariom used to work the Delhi fire service department. Suman has two children who study in Delhi government schools. In the year 2017, there was a cylinder blast at West Delhi where Hariom rushed with his team to control the fire. Hariom lost his life but helped 10 people and saved their life. For the people of Suman’s locality, Hariom is a hero. Her children also want to be like their father. Suman and her children are proud of Hariom and his bravery. It is a great opportunity for us to be part of the guest list. I am very grateful for the care and love from the Delhi government. Mr Arvind Kejriwal is the best Chief Minister Delhi has ever witnessed and I think in the coming days also he will keep working for the poor people of Delhi. 15. Manni Devi
Wife of a late head constable

The last year was the most difficult year for her after her husband Gujralilal, a head constable for Delhi police died in an accident. Gujralilal was a tough cop but everybody used to love him. In the locality every one used to come to his house with their own problems and he used to listen to everyone. He was a fun-loving person and also foodie. Manni Devi was born in UP and then after married came to Delhi. She had never imagined a life without Gujralilal but now after his death, she realises every day how much she loved him. In the last five years the Delhi government has changed the education sector and also we are very happy with the health facilities in the government hospitals. I am proud of the AAP government and Delhi Chief Minister. It is a great honour for us to get invited in this program and we are eager to meet Mr. Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday.

16. Shabina Naaz
Night shelter caretaker

Shabina is working with the night shelters around Chandni Chowk and Kashmiri gates for the past 5 years. She is happy with her and she has witnessed the gradual change of these night shelters. Shabina has also witnessed that now many more people are aware of this work of the Delhi government and come in these night shelters. Three years back Shabina found an abandoned kid at a night shelter. She tried hard to find out the parents of the kid but could not find anyone. Shabina took the kid to the nearby police station and handed over to the police. The child has now grown up and stays in a nearby home. Every month she visits him to meet. When the first time I got a call I could not believe that it is really happening. I can tell you that only the AAP government can invite a person as unimportant as me. But I am very happy about this and I will pray to god for the good health of Mr Arvind Kejriwal.

17. Lazwanti
Sanitation worker

Lazwanti is working as a Safai Karamchari (sanitation worker) for the last 9 years in Delhi. She is born and brought up in Delhi. Lazwanti loves the city and her work too. She believes that her work of cleaning the city is a gift of god because by this she gets a chance to keep the city clean. Lazwanti is married and has three kids. After getting married she always used to think that she will never tell her children about her work. But when her first child started to go to school, she told him about her profession and what she does. Lazwanti remembers who her child reacted and told her that he is proud of his mother. I think Delhi Chief Minister and the government are very affectionate to the poor people of Delhi. Our family is proud of a Chief Minister like Mr Arvind Kejriwal and we are very excited to attend the program. It is a great honour for us and we are looking forward to the event.

TRANSPORT

18. Arun Kumar
Bus Marshal

Arun is deployed in a cluster (orange) bus saved a six-year-old girl from being kidnapped by a 22-year-old man in Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan area. He became suspicious around 11 am when he found that a girl, accompanied by a man, was weeping and looked uncomfortable. The bus was plying on Route 728, from Goyala Dairy to New Delhi. Suspecting something was wrong, he alerted the driver who locked the gates of the bus. Once that was done, the accused tried all means to escape, but with the help of the conductor, driver and other passengers overpowered him and took him to the police station. “The Delhi govt has given me a lot of respect and changed my life completely. It is an honour for me to represent bus marshals. We work hard every day to provide security to women. The AAP government is very serious about women safety and we are making the dream of Mr Arvind Kejriwal true,” says Arun Kumar.

19. Geeta Devi
Bus Marshal

Geeta Devi is a 36-year old Bus Marshal. Geeta has always wanted to be a police officer but she could not become one. When she got to know about this work of bus marshal, she applied for it and took it up. Geeta Devi who bravely captured a pickpocket from a bus and handed him to the police. The incident took place at Delhi gate on 23rd October 2019. One pickpocketer rode the bus and stole a mobile phone from a passenger. Geeta watched the person and confronted him directly. She caught the pickpocketer and took him to Daryaganj Police station. “I think that Delhi Chief Minister Mr Arvind Kejriwal is working very hard for the security of the women of Delhi. I am a very proud bus marshal and I work to ensure the safety of passengers on the buses. It would be really great to attend Mr Kejriwal’s oath-taking ceremony for me and my family,” says Geeta Devi.

20. Sunder Lal
Bus Conductor

Sunder Lal has been working as a bus conductor for the last seven years. He belongs from Bihar and stays here with his family.. He has two kids who study in Delhi government schools. In the last few years he has witnessed how the transport system in Delhi has changed. After the Aam Aadmi Party government came to power the social status and economic status of bus conductors have improved. He enjoys his work and wishes to become a pilot one day. “I am honoured to get an invitation from the Chief Minister. I think the Aam Aadmi Party government is the only party which has worked relentlessly for the poor people in sectors of education, health and transport. Sharing a special location like the oath-taking ceremony of the chief minister would be a proud moment for me and my family.”

21. Gajraj Singh
Bus Conductor

He has been working as a bus conductor for the last 20 years and he believes that every work is very important in society. He belongs from Uttar Pradesh but brought up in Delhi. He stays here with his wife and three children. He is one of the few conductors of buses in Delhi who also knows how to drive buses. He believes that bus drivers and conductors share a very important relationship. He also remembers how he helped a bus driver to protect the bus from an accident at night. He says that he will always remember that day. “When I got the invitation I thought it is a prank call because why will I be invited. But now I am very happy for the invitation and I will definitely come with my family. Mr Arvind Kejriwal is a person of words and work which we all are proud of.”

22. Nidhi Gupta
Metro Pilot

Nidhi Gupta is in her late 30s and loves her work as a Metro Pilot. From the very childhood, Nidhi is courageous and loves adventure. She is also proud of the work because she believes that as a pilot she plays a key role in people’s life. Nidhi believes that every day is an achievement in her life because she helps the people from across the social strata to travel. She remembers that once while entering a station she saw that a girl jumped at the metro line and she had very less time to stop the train. Nidhi decided to save the life of that girl and pushed the break. The train stopped and the girl was saved. It is an achievement for her indeed. “I am very honoured to be a part of such a historic ceremony. I think Mr Arvind Kejriwal is very empathetic towards the children and women. I always respect him for his revolutionary work in the education sector and for women empowerment. I am also very proud to represent the metro pilots on this occasion because as pilots we play a key role in the life of people. I am looking forward to this ceremony,” says Nidhi.

NGO Partners

23. Shankar Singh
Founder of Vrikshit Foundation

The founder of Vrikshit Foundation, 22-year-old Shankar Singh, completed his schooling from Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, FU block Pitampura. He studied engineering from Deshbandhu Chhota Ram University of Science and Technology, and is now working as a software engineer. Vrikshit Foundation - Founded in the year 2019, the Vrikshit Foundation is working towards enhancing awareness in the people, in terms of ensuring cleanliness and sanitation, and initiating tree plantation activities, in order to educate people to take up the responsibility of maintaining a clean and green environment . The Vrikshit Foundation has been the winner of the Champion Challenge organized by Dhruv Rathee. It has successfully cleaned more than 50 locations in Delhi. The foundation has worked with Delhi Government to spread dengue awareness in the pioneer dengue campaign of #10hafte10baje10minute. They have done pioneer work in the initiation of a project, which involves planting 10000 trees out of which 600 have been done. They are also being monitored and by the end of the year this count will be 10000. In a message to Hon’ble CM, Shankar says, “You are one of the best Chief Ministers, who thinks for the common man. You are an inspiration for many of us. Keep doing the great work for Delhi, the whole country is looking at you. I feel blessed to be representing our work on behalf of my organisation.”

24. Rahul Verma
Founder of Uday Foundation

In 2006, Rahul Verma had been doing the rounds of various hospitals for his son Arjunuday, who was born with multiple congenital defects. Arjunuday had been operated on 11 times from 2006-2007. During his regular stay at the hospitals, Rahul had been disillusioned by the lack of sufficiency in the healthcare system. To equalise the benefits of healthcare amongst people of all classes and backgrounds, Rahul founded Uday Foundation in the year 2007. Uday Foundation: Started in 2007, Uday Foundation has been working in the social sector for the last 12 years in Delhi in facilitating homeless people with basic amenities like food and ration. The foundation plays a key role in feeding 5000 people daily, along with providing dignity kits and clothes to the patients outside government healthcare centres and hospitals. The organisation also has a dedicated education centre, which has been elemental in providing education to children admitted in hospitals and suffering from terminal illnesses. The Uday Foundation has been time and again recognised as well as acknowledged for its work across the social sector. The works of the foundation have been covered extensively in all media channels. Despite being proffered with various awards, Rahul Verma, the founder of Uday Foundation believes in not taking any rewards or awards for the work he does. “As compared to the year 2015, the number of unfortunate deaths in the winter season have reduced considerably. This is due to the works done by the AAP-Delhi government in improving the night shelters in Delhi. Another admirable initiative of the Delhi government is the Dengue campaign, which has been elemental in eradicating Dengue from Delhi. We are overwhelmed by the appreciation of the Delhi government towards our work,” says Rahul.

Infrastructure

25. Ratan Jamshed Batliboi
Architect, Signature Bridge

Born in Mumbai in 1957, Ratan Jamshed Batlioboi has done remarkable work in the field of architecture across India. He has graduated from Sir JJ College of Architecture, Mumbai, and has been practicing architecture since the last 40 years. He has been engaged in multi-disciplinary practice in the field of architecture since 1988. The list of the projects undertaken by Mr. Batliboi includes architectural designing of railway stations and mono-rails in Navi Mumbai. He has been associated with the refurbishment of Bandra-Worli sea-link project, Marine Drive promenade, and expansion of DMRC routes. Mr. Batliboi has been a pioneer in social architecture. One of his biggest contributions to Delhi is the Signature Bridge which connects Wazirabad to East Delhi. When the project began in 2004, Mr. Batliboi collaborated with Mike Schlaich Bergermann as a structural construction to spearhead the construction process. The Signature Bridge was inaugurated in 2018 and has been an urban marvel of the national capital. “I am glad that Mr. Arvind Kejriwal is doing what he is doing. His model of development has been commendable. He has stuck to his cause and has not been dissuaded or corrupted by the blaming disposition of the other leaders and politicians,” says Mr Batliboi.

26. Vijay Kumar Sagar
Construction Worker

Born in Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Vijay moved to Delhi when he was only one-year old. He has completed his schooling till 8th standard. 41-year-old Vijay had to live through some really tough times for a consistent profession that could support him and his family. Vijay Kumar Sagar has been a construction worker in Delhi for the last 15 years. Mr. Vijay Kumar Sagar is presently working on the 86-lane construction project on the Sultanpuri Road in Delhi. He is grateful to be working for the development of infrastructure in Delhi. “Mr. Arvind Kejriwal has worked greatly for the welfare of the poor. From free electricity, free water to free education and healthcare, he has made sure that people can avail benefits in each sector. I hope that he continues being the Chief Minister of Delhi for the next 15-20 years and continues working to develop Delhi. I feel obliged to be somebody who will represent my community in ‘Dilli Ke Nirmata’”

27. Krish Jurel
CCTV Installation Supervisor

33-year-old Krishna Jurel was born in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, and moved to Delhi 12 years back. He completed his graduation in Computer Applications from Agra post which he worked as an IT professional in Agra for 2-3 years. His experience in the technical field made him gain exposure into diverse related professions. Hailing from the technical field, Krishna ventured into the CCTV installation business 10 years back. He has been associated with the Delhi government as a supervisor of the installation project of more than 2 lakh CCTV cameras in Delhi. He has been entrusted with the important tasks of ensuring proper installation of CCTVs, backend support, recording system, camera placing, etc. He has been an elemental resource to the Delhi government for the CCTV installation project across Delhi. “The CCTV camera installation project is one of the biggest and prominent projects of the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government. I feel fortunate to be working for the welfare of the people and I want to thank the Chief Minister for introducing such a step for the people.”

28. Pramod Kumar Mahatto
Construction Worker- School

Pramod Kumar Mahatto has been a construction worker in Delhi for 22 years. After completing his graduation from Bihar, he pursued his interest in the field of education and had his own coaching centre. He moved to Delhi in the year 1988, and has been working as a construction worker ever since. He is the sole earning member of his family of six members. He resides in the VikasPuri constituency in West Delhi. Pramod Kumar is currently employed in the construction of Delhi government schools in Janak Puri and VikasPuri. “The last five years of the Delhi Government has made people realise that development is possible. The work that he has done in the unauthorised colonies in Delhi is remarkable. He should continue to develop Delhi, improve schools and colleges, improve infrastructure like drains and sewers especially in the unauthorised colonies for the welfare of the people. I am overwhelmed to be a part of this ceremony and I believe that my being here would bring a huge difference in the lives of the people belonging to my community and profession,” says Pramod.

Yogesh Dua is the Founder and Joint Managing Director of Fujiyama Power System Pvt Ltd. After completing his engineering in 1996 from the Government Institute of Engineering & Technology, Hisar, he came to Delhi looking for Job. Yogesh along with his partner Pawan Garg set their factory in Rama Road, Karampura Industrial Area of Delhi. Since its inception in 1996, Fujiyama Power System has evolved into a renowned name in the field of power electronics. They offer an extensive range of products including Online UPS, Offline UPS, Inverters, Battery Chargers, SMU(Solar Management Unit), Solar Charge Controllers, Batteries. Yogesh Dua has been living and working in Delhi for the last 23 years. As a businessman, Yogesh feels that in the last 5 years, Delhi has become one of the most conducive places to operate a business from. He feels that the Delhi government is framing the right schemes and policies, adding the necessary checks and balances, creating an ecosystem that can address the needs of businessmans and traders and provide ease in business. “The reduction in VAT from 12.5% to 5% was one of the most encouraging initiatives by the Delhi Government. Now people are willing to pay taxes as they know an honest government is in charge of Delhi. Another milestone that the Delhi Government achieved in the last 5 years if the abolition of “raid raj”, now we don't feel like we will be harassed by impromptu raids. Navneet Kalra heads the most recognisable optical store in Delhi/NCR, Dayal Opticals. With over 15 stores in Delhi NCR, Navneet has single handedly elevated the 51 year old legacy of the store to almost an iconic stature. Simultaneously, Navneet Dayal is also a restaurateur who runs famous food joints like Khan Chacha and Town hall. Navneet is delighted that unlike other cities, the ease of doing business in Delhi is systematically improving. “I am part of the restaurant association, sometime back the excise commissioner misinterpreted a policy and banned inhouse DJs from playing music in restaurants. We as an association met Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and asked him to intervene. We were surprised to see that the matter was resolved in an hour, there were no unwarranted demands, no unnecessary hassles,” says Navneet.

31. VK Gupta
Chief Engineer - Delhi Jal Board

Vijay Gupta graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Roorkee in 1984. He joined the Delhi Development Authority as a junior engineer from 1986 and decided to simultaneously pursue LLB from Delhi University. He then completed his MBA from IP university in Disaster Management. He joined the Delhi Jal Board in 2010 as the superintending engineer and is presently working as the chief engineer. While Mr. Gupta has been overseeing many action plans for Delhi like the Yamuna Action Plan 3, rejuvenation of water bodies, his key achievements have been in unauthorised colonies. Delhi Jal Board has worked tirelessly in regulating water supply and constructing sewer lanes in unauthorised colonies. “This government has a solution outlook, I have met the CM many times in the last 2 years and his focus is on getting the work done. It is very encouraging when you know that there are people in the system who are ready to support you and help you whenever there is a problem. We know that this government is serious about good governance and good work, this boosts our morale to perform better”.

32. Dinesh Chand Sharma
JE, DSIIDC

Dinesh Chand Sharma completed his Civil Engineering from Government Polytechnic College, Ghaziabad. He then joined DSIIDC as a supervisor in 1999 and is presently working there as a JE. Mr. Sharma is entrusted with the work of providing basic infrastructure like roads & storm water drains in unauthorised colonies of Delhi. He has been working in this field for the last 20 years and has witnessed how gradually the city has changed. He is also one of the very key engineers who has been associated with many major projects in Delhi. This time he looks forward to make Delhi a better city.

33. Braj Pal Assistant
Engineer Civil- PWD

Braj Pal completed his Diploma in Civil Engineering from U.P technical Board and went on to complete his B. tech from Rajasthan University in 1988. In 1989, Mr. Pal joined the Civil Construction Wing of All India Radio. In 2005, Mr. Pal joined PWD as a Junior Engineer and is presently working as the Assistant Civil Engineer in the education and maintenance division of PWD. Mr. Pal was responsible for the construction, upgrading and maintenance of National Highways, roads and development of sites. In the last 2 years, Mr. Pal has been closely working and overseeing the construction of school buildings and classrooms. “Five years ago, Delhi government schools were in shambles, the bathroom stench and crumbling walls were reminiscent of the debilitating education sector. The whole infrastructure of Delhi government schools have been revamped and now they can compete with any private schools” “We don't feel tied or bound by anything especially when it comes to the budget. The USP of this government is that they are focused on maximising the utilization of the land and reduce wastage of any kind. I am very excited to be a part of this Government, we will truly make Delhi a world class city by the next 5 years.”

34. Mohammad Tahir
SMC PARENTS REPRESENTATIVE

Mohd. Tahir lives with his 4 kids and wife at Daryaganj. Tahir was born and brought up in Delhi. After completing his 10th standard from Government School, Tahir was working as a tailor. Tahir has been working from a young age and believes that education is the only way out of poverty. His 3 kids are studying at Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Daryaganj. His 4th and youngest child suffers from physical disability and is currently not going to school. Tahir was elected as the Vice President of the School Management Committee as the parent’s representative. He along with other SMC team members are responsible for proper utilization of the school budgets. In the last 3 years, Tahir goes to the school at least twice a week to oversee the minor repair work, approve new work and create a conducive learning environment for children. “When I was first elected, I thought this is farce. Government loves making committees but I never thought that I would actually have any power. Last year, we changed the water lines in the school. We also repaired the ground where water used to collect and be a breeding ground for mosquitoes. I know this work does not pay me but as a parent I want to spend more and more time helping build this school. I am grateful to AAP for providing me this opportunity. I feel blessed that I have contributed towards ensuring a bright and prosperous future for our children.”

35. Dalibir Singh
Farmer

Dalibir Singh lives in a joint family with his wife, 2 sons and their family in Najafgarh, Delhi. Dalibir belongs to a generation of farmers and after completing his MSC in statistics and B.Ed he had to teach in Delhi Government’s Coed .Sr. Secondary school in Mitraon village, Nazafgargh. After retirement, he and his wife decided to go back farming. For Dalbir, farming is more than an occupation, it is a legacy that he wants to pass to his next generation. He feels that a farmer is connected to Mother Earth in a way that no one else is. Dalbir Singh and his wife have 5 acres of land where they grow wheat, mustard and in the Kharif season they grow millet and bajra. Dalbir feels that the farmer community is the most neglected community in India. He was ecstatic when the Kejriwal Sarkar decided to reach out to farmers and reduce some of their financial burdens. The biggest reform for him is the increase in circle rate of land from 53 lakh per acre to 5 cr. per acre. Dalbir is also grateful to the Delhi Government for reducing the electricity bill, especially the Tubewell bill which used to be a staggering sum and an additional burden for the farmer community. “It is not just me but the entire community that is very happy that this government got elected again. We are hoping that Kejriwalji will now focus on providing us solar panels, I read somewhere that they are thinking about it. This would be a great idea both for the environment as well as to reduce our electricity bills. We also hope that he revives the insurance scheme that was abolished during the Sheila Dikshit Government. I am very excited to represent my community in the oath taking ceremony.”

36. Suresh Vyas
Artist

Suresh Vyas was born in 1966 in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Mr. Vyas always wanted to be a dancer but the lack of opportunities in his small town forced him to run away from home and come to Delhi. In 1998, Suresh got the opportunity to enroll himself in Delhi's Kathak Kendra under the supervision of Late Pt. Durga Lal. For Mr. Vyas this was a golden opportunity but the untimely death of his guru one year later shattered his dreams. The struggle for survival was hard and Mr. Vyas had to numerous odd jobs to sustain himself in Delhi. In 1995, Mr. Vyas met his wife and decided to get married. His wife encouraged him to learn Bhavai Nirtya, a traditional balancing dance performance which was almost on verge of extinction. Mr. Vyas’s wife Beena also helps him with backstage work. Till date they have done more than 5000 shows in and around Delhi. In the last 5 years, Mr. Vyas has closely worked with Delhi’s Tourism and Culture Department. He feels that Shri Manish Sisodia has worked hard to control the systemic corruption that was rotting the culture department. According to Mr Vyas, one of the key initiatives is the addition of MLA quota where local MLAs can identify the cultural themes that their community would like to engage in and bring artists accordingly. This has given a boost to the otherwise neglected cultural scenario of Delhi. "I am grateful to the Delhi Government for removing the middleman in our business and directly contacting artists. We still have a long way to go but I am happy that this government has decided to create new channels of directly engaging with artists. Delhi is a cultural hub with so many artists from all over the country. I am sure that in the next 5 years, we will be known for increasing the cultural competence of not just our city but also our country. There are many art forms that are on the verge of extinction, we need to revive them so that our future generations can see the diversity and talent that our country has”.

37. Khyati Gupta
181 Helpline Operator

Khyati has done her Bachelors as well as Masters in Social Works from Bhim Rao Ambedkar College. She also has a degree in Law. She has a family of 5 people. Her father runs a medical shop, her mother is a homemaker and she has 2 elder brothers. She started her career as counselor at National AIDS Control Organization where she counselled female sex workers of the precautions they should take while dealing with their customers. Eventually, she started working as a trainer in Sarthak Educational Trust where she provided training to people with disabilities. Since last 1 year she has been associated with the Delhi Commission for Women as an Assistant Coordinator where she monitors counselors who work for the Mobile Helpline Service. Khyati feels everyday is an achievement for her where she gets to help women in need. She recalls many cases which required a lot of coordination and ground work but at the end when she received blessings from their family members, it became all worth it. Khyati is absolutely delighted to be a part of this ceremony. She says, “It’s the best feeling in the world. I never imagined that I could be a part of such an event. I am delighted to represent my community of 181 Helpline operators”.

39. Geeta Devi
Anganwadi Worker

Geeta Devi has been an Anganwadi worker for the last five years. She has witnessed how in the five years the sector has changed under the rule of the AAP government. From providing good food to providing better infrastructure, Geeta says that these five years were revolutionary in terms of changes. Geeta as an Anaganwadi worker has worked closely with the teams which were working for the development of this sector. This involvement has not only helped the facelift of the sector but also it has been a great learning experience for her. By this work she has been able to address various ground level problems faced by the Anganwadi workers in Delhi. I really appreciate the AAP govt and Mr Arvind Kejriwal for including my name. I am very proud to represent the Anaganwadi workers of Delhi who play a big role in the social sector for the development of children and women. The AAP government in the last five years have worked very hard for the betterment of this sector and I am very sure that the Chief Minister of Delhi will continue this good work.

40. Anil
Doorstep delivery supervisor

Anil has been working as the doorstep delivery supervisor for the past 2 years. He dreams that this kind of scheme will be implemented in the state of the country. He has witnessed how this scheme has eased the life of many people. Anil remembers that one day for a certificate he went to a house of a senior citizen. The couple could not avail the certificate for the last two years because they did not have physical strength to stand at the line of offices to make the certificates. When he reacher their home Anil did every necessary work and filled up the columns needed for the certificate. Later he has also cross checked if they received the certificate or not. Anil believes that this profession is a very noble one. “I think that every state of this country should implement such a scheme because it helps people from across the spectrum. I am also happy to be a part of the 50 Dilli ke Nirmata. It is an honour to represent my community there. I believe that the AAP government will continue to develop Delhi with many such schemes which will bring ease to the life of people.”

41. Charan Singh
Farmer

Charan Singh was born and brought up in Uttar Pradesh. He came to Delhi when he was 14 year old. He stays at the bank of the Yamuna river and his farmland is at the Yamuna floodplain. In the past five years, Charan Singh has witnessed how the agriculture sector under the Aam Aadmi Party government has developed. He's also happy because of various schemes for the farmers like implementation of Solar Panel Yojana and Swaminathan commission recommendations. He also believes that in the coming years the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Mr Arvind Kejriwal will walk for the cleaning of the Yamuna river. “I am very happy because the Chief Minister of Delhi has invited a small person like me in this oath taking ceremony. I have witnessed the development work of Mr Arvind Kejriwal in the sectors of education, health, transport, agriculture and others. I have seen other government resigns in Delhi also but none of the governments earlier have really worked for the development of farmers but Mr Arvind Kejriwal has done a great job. I am also happy to be a representative of the thousands of farmers in Delhi in this program.”

42. Shashi Sharma
Asha Worker

Shashi is a resident of Kabir Nagar where she lives with her husband and two sons. Her husband runs her own business and her sons have chosen different career paths. She has been working as the Asha Worker since 2011 and is absolutely in love with her job. Her work includes creating awareness and providing information to the community on determinants of health such as nutrition, basic sanitation & hygienic practices, healthy living and working conditions, information on existing health services and the need for timely utilization of health & family welfare services. She counsels women on birth preparedness, the importance of safe delivery, breast-feeding and complementary feeding, immunization, contraception and prevention of common infections including Reproductive Tract Infection/Sexually Transmitted Infection (RTIs/STIs) and care of the young child. Shashi feels that motivating every woman to get herself checked is an achievement for her. She appreciates all the efforts taken by this government. She says “I can’t express my happiness to be a part of this event. Also, it is my honour to represent my community in this ceremony.”

43. Nazma
Aanganwadi Worker

Nazma aged 40, is an anganwadi worker. She has been in this profession since 2011. She is working in Timarpur Vidhan Sabha Constituency. As as Aanganwadi Worker, she has done tremendous work in the field. She informed and aware people about the aanganwadi scheme of the government. Because of her efforts, people in her area are now enjoying the benefits of schemes related to Aanganwadi. She also motivated common people to participate in the voting process. She helped them in applying for voter id as well. “I want to thank the organizers for inviting me. I also want to congratulate shree Arvind Kejriwal ji. Because of him, we are now getting an increased salary. Government has also provided us Smart Phone which is helping us in delivering the services to common people.”

44. Prijith Rekh
SE, Flood and irrigation dept.

Prijith Rekh was born in 1973 at Thalassery dist of Kerala. He completed his B. tech from College of Engineering, Trivandrum in 1984. In 1994, Mr. Rekh joined as contractor for Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. After a few years of working, Mr Rekh joined as the Assistant Engineer for the Farakka Barrage Project, Government of India. In 2012, Mr Rekh was selected as the Executive Engineer for the Irrigation & Flood Control department of Delhi Government. In 2017, he was promoted as the Superintending Engineer, for Flood Circle 2. Mr. Rekh was responsible for rejuvenation of drains in Delhi. Under the pilot project, the waterbody will be filled with treated water from the Ghoga drain, which brings in sewage from the neighbouring villages. In 2017, the Delhi government built a small sewage treatment plant (STP) — constructing a wetland that could effectively clean the black and polluted water from the drain. Another project that I was working closely with was to increase the water table of Delhi using flood water. The excess water from the floods would be used to create a 1000-acre pond that can fulfill the needs of the city. “This government is acutely aware of the water shortage that can impact the living conditions of the common man in the coming years and thus this Government is focused on creating an action plan that can solve this imminent threat. There is a strategic action plan that has been built after having multiple discussions with different stakeholders, budgets and land are allotted for all the projects and there is constant support for the team implementing these projects. I am sure that in 2 years, we will be able to provide water to every person living in Delhi”

45. Laxman Chaudhry
Auto Driver

Laxman Chaudhry, aged 37 is an auto driver by profession. He has 3 children. He lives in the Timarpur constituency. Laxman has been an auto driver for the last 15 years. He actively participates in social work as well. He aware other auto drivers about their legal rights. He also ensures women safety in his auto. “I really feel honored to be part of the guest list. I admire the work of the Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal. He has done a tremendous job for the common people. Because of his policies, we are able to live in a more dignified way in Delhi. Earlier we auto drivers had to face many problems on the road as well as in the transport office. Even for the renewal of licenses, we had to wait for a longer period of time but now we don’t face such problems. All credit goes to our beloved chief minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal.”

46. Raju Mistry
Auto Driver

Raju Mistri, aged 33 is an auto driver. He has been in this profession for the last 10 years. He lives in jangpura constituency. He is a member of Auto Wing of AAP. He is always available for any help to his fellow auto drivers. He guides and helps them in solving their issues on priority basis. He is the head of AAP Auto Wing, East Delhi Area. He has done many efforts for the welfare of auto drivers in east Delhi. “I feel happy and honored to be included in the guest list. Shri Arvind Kejriwal has given an identity to us as an auto driver. As an auto driver, we feel very proud to have him as our chief minister. He is our hero. We love Kejriwal. He is in the heart of every auto driver of Delhi.”

47. Ajeet Kumar
Doorstep Delivery Agent

Ajeet is the ITI diploma holder who couldn’t complete his studies after class 12th due to his father’s sudden demise. He had to start working early due to family needs. His mother works as the Asha Worker in Rajokri Dispensary. His sister works in an NGO named Caped that works for Cancer patients. His wife is a homemaker. Currently, he is on cloud nine as yesterday he was blessed with a baby girl. He worked for three years as a Mechanical Engineer in a corporate firm. During this period, he met with an accident due to which he had to leave his job. He is a Civil Defense Volunteer, through that group he got to know about this job opening of Doorstep Delivery Agent. Currently, he is absolutely satisfied with his job as it provides him that recognition which he always craved for. He considers his work as his biggest achievement. Ajeet says “I am extremely happy to witness this oath-taking ceremony and feel very proud to receive this invitation. When my department told me that I have been nominated to represent my community, I couldn’t believe it.”

48. Meena Kumari
Rape Cell Coordinator

Meena Kumari was born and brought up in Delhi and has been working with the Delhi commission for women for the last four years. In the last four years she has witnessed how the DCW is working hard on the issues of women. From the very childhood she has always dreamt to work for the woman on the issues of gender, justice and other related matters. In the last four years she has been part of various rescue operations of the Delhi commission for women. But she remembers how the team got a call for a rape incident of an eight month old baby. The team reached there immediately and rescued the baby. She will always remember this rescue operation and this incident still haunts her. “I am privileged and happy to get this invitation from Mr Arvind Kejriwal. The Aam Aadmi Party government is the only government which has worked for the issues of women's safety. Now the Delhi commission for women is working more than Delhi police on the issues of injustice to women. I am proud to represent the DCW in this location and I'm looking forward to more work on the sector of women security by the Delhi government.”
