Voter Facilitation Posters (VFP) Are Getting Ready For Delhi Assembly Elections

Educating the voters about the polling process is a crucial responsibility in front of the EC while Delhi is facing the assembly elections 2020. As part of fulfilling the statutory requirements mentioned in Conduct of Elections Rules 1961 under Rule 31, the EC needs to provide relevant and accurate information to the voters regarding the election process and on the voting procedures. In order to disseminate the information to the public about the various topics related to the upcoming election, the EC is getting ready with uniform and standardized Voter Facilitation Posters (VFP).

Where the VFPs will be displayed

In order to facilitate a greater understanding about the election and creating an awareness among the voters, the EC will display the VFPs at every polling station. The EC has also instructed that the posters are displayed in a prominent way to be easily accessible to the public visiting the booth for casting votes.

How many types of VFPs are in delhi assembly election:

In total, there are four types of VFPs getting ready for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections. The common subject of all these four posters is to display the voter-centric information that is relevant for educating the voters.

What information can be learnt from the VFPs during delhi assembly election

The following information is made available on the four VFPs for the information of the voting public.

• Details of the polling booth where the poster is displayed
• The specified polling area of the given polling booth
• The full list of contesting candidates for the constitution in which the polling booth occurs
• Contact details of important election officers
• The list of documents approved by the EC as identity proof for the voters
• An illustration of the voting process
• Important Dos and Don’ts at the polling booths on the day of polling
• Items that are banned in and around the polling booth
