The top ten richest MLA candidates in Maharashtra election together are worth ₹2400 crore

• Parag Shah is the richest candidate in Maharashtra contesting for state elections.
  
• He is followed by BJP’s Mangalprabhat Lodha, who has assets over ₹ 400 crore
  
• Out of the 3112 candidates analysed by ADR , 1007 are crorepatis.
  

With ₹500 crore worth assets, BJP’s Parag Shah is the richest candidate to be contesting Maharashtra state elections from the Ghatkopar East assembly. He is followed by BJP’s Mangalprabhat Lodha, who has assets over ₹400 crore. Sanjay Chandrakant Jagpat is the third richest MLA candidate contesting for Purandar constituency.

There are 3,237 candidates contesting for 288 seats in Maharashtra. Out of the 3,112 candidates analysed by ADR, 1007 are crorepatis.

Party-wise, 96% of the BJP’s candidates — thats’ 155 out of 162 candidates — are crorepatis. The top two richest candidates are from BJP while the third is from Congress.
