Praniti Shinde, daughter of former home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, won the Maharashtra Assembly elections from the Solapur constituency by a margin of 12719 votes.
“I am doing my work by meeting people. It is up to my party if they wish to give me another opportunity,” said Shinde.
However, Shinde is facing tough competition from NCP’s Juber Bhagwan — who was given ticket primarily because of pressure from several Muslim organisations.
She is also facing tough competition from Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) who are expected to secure a larger number of votes from the Muslim community.
The Solapur constituency is dominated by Muslims, Dalits and Shindes.

She is the sitting MLA from the Solapur constituency and seeking relection. In 2014 Vidhan Sabha election, Shinde defeated AIMIM’s Taufiq and won by 9,000 votes. “I am doing my work by meeting people. It is up to my party if they wish to give me another opportunity,” said Shinde.
