Former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the Leader of Opposition is confident that Congress will win. He recontesting from his bastion Garhi Sampla-Kiloi in Rohtak district. "The Jannayak Janata Party and Indian National Lok Dal are not factors, the contest is between Congress and the BJP only and the Congress will get the majority," he told reporters. Hooda said that the contest in the state was only between the BJP and Congress and the latter would emerge victorious.

The state's opposition leader Abhay Chautala and his family turns up to vote today. Along with other Congress leader, he too raised the issue of possible EVM tampering to reporters outside. Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh was the first to point out that EVMs could be manipulated and tweeted to the electorate and urged them to take prints of votes and put them in ballots instead. Maharashtra which is also voting today, had opposition leaders expressing worry. NCP wrote to the election commissioner on the issue and asked them to disable WiFi for three kilometers around polling booths.
