India Today Axis My India poll predicts 9-10 seats for AAP for the first 10 constituencies in West Delhi. While BJP is projected to win 0-1 seats. While Congress coalition with parties is expected to win 0 seats. AAP is likely to win 9-10 seats in Chandni Chowk, while BJP will have to settle with 0-1 seats.

All eyes are on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who is seeking re-election this year. In 2015, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won the 2015 election after winning 67 of the 70 assembly seats. This time too, Kejriwal’s manifesto promised Jan Lokpal 24X7 markets.

BJP, on the other hand, promised to focus on solutions for water and air pollution. Meanwhile the Congress is trying to get back in power with the assembly election after it failed to perform in Lok Sabha Election 2019. Apart from water problems, air pollution, the on-going protest at Shaheen Bagh against CAA were also election issues.

As many as 1.46 crore are eligible to vote in this assembly election. The citizens were hopeful that the voter turnout will be at least 55%, according to India Today. At 5.40m, the voter turnout was 54.18%, according to the Election Commission.

However, the 2020 assembly election in Delhi recorded lower voter turnout. At 3 pm, the voter turnout was 29.89%, according to the Election Commission - at least 10% less than the same, last year. The Delhi Assembly Election 2013 registered the highest turnout in three decades at 66% and it was around 67.1% in 2015. Interestingly, more and more women were coming out to voters

In 2015, India Today-Cicero poll projected that BJP will win 34-40 seats and AAP will win 25-31 seats. However, that was not the case.
