Delhi Elections 2020: How to enable pick and drop service to your polling stations

• Registered users will be sent a message on the day before the polling day with information for pick and drop services.
  
• Metro service will be enabled from 4 am on February 7.

Delhi Chief Electoral Officer announced the pick-up and drop services for senior citizens over 80 years of age and persons with special abilities - to help them take part in the democratic process.

The electoral commission has made sure that all citizens who enrolled for pick up and drop services through the CEO Delhi website come to the polling station to exercise their franchise.

According to the data, the electoral office had 55,823 people with special abilities and 2,05,035 aged more than 80 years registered with the office.

The voting will start at 8 am and end at 6 pm on February 8 and the pick-up and drop services will be enabled from the morning. People who have registered through the website will be receiving a message on February 7, alerting them with the time slot, and the pick-up location will be their registered address.

This is the first time Delhi is holding polls after Lok Sabha general elections in May 2019.

However, if you haven’t registered for pick-up and drop services, there is not much of a worry as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has announced that they will begin their services at 4.00 am to help voters reach their destination on time.

The results of the Delhi elections will be announced on February 11. However, the exit polls will be out by the end of the day.

As many as 672 candidates are contesting across 70 constituencies. The key contesting parties for the upcoming election on February 8 are Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC).

The political parties have been focusing on daily life issues like water crisis and subsidies. The AAP candidate and current chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is seeking re-election and promises of free access to water and electricity. The BJP promises to provide affordable housing low food prices.
