Tuseed joined politics when he became the president of Delhi University Students' Union in 2017. However, he was dismissed from the position for not disclosing that a disciplinary action was taken against him for assaulting a student. Later, he was reinstated as president by the Delhi High Court.
Tuseed was the reason behind Congress’ DUSU election victory which came after a gap of five years. He has lived in Rajendra Nagar since birth and claims to have close ties to the community
“I have been working in my area since 2018. Since I won the DUSU polls, people started coming to me with their problems and I helped them out. It was the people of the area who insisted that I contest the assembly polls,” he told Times of India.
