Delhi exit poll result by C Voter

The exit polls for the Delhi Assembly elections are out. The ABP C-Voter has given a wide range for the results.

The ABP C-Voter poll predicted 7-9 seats for AAP, 1-3 for BJP in Chandni Chowk. For East Delhi, it predicted 6-8 seats for AAP, 1-3 for BJP and 0-1 for Congress. For New Delhi, it predicted 7-9 for AAP, 1-3 for BJP and 0-1 for Congress. For North East Delhi, it has predicted 7-9 seats for AAP, 1-3 for BJP and 0-1 for Congress. For South Delhi, it predicted 7-9 seats for AAP, 0-2 for BJP and 0-1 for Congress. For North West Delhi, 8-10 for AAP, 0-2 for BJP and 0 for Congress. For West Delhi, it predicted 7-9 seats for AAP, 1-3 for BJP and 0-1 for Congress.

The Aam Aadmi Party had won the 2015 assembly elections by winning 67 seats out of the 70 seats. Through the five years, AAP has worked for the development of Delhi. A major achievement of the party has been the development of the government schools in the national capital. The incumbent Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s manifesto promised Jan Lokpal 24X7 markets.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party which is looking to come into power in the national capital had said in its manifesto that it will focus on solving the water crisis and air pollution problem.

The national capital went to polls on February 8 for all of its 70 constituencies. The Bharatiya Janata Party, Aam Aadmi Party and the Indian National Congress are the main contenders for the majority number of seats in the Legislative Assembly.

The voting started at 8 am and ended at 6 pm on February 8. The results will be out on February 11.

As many as 1.46 crore are eligible to vote in this assembly election. There are over 672 candidates in the fray.

As of 6 pm, the voter turnout stood at 53.51%. The voter turnout in 2016 Delhi Assembly elections stood at 67.13%.

The Delhi elections has been in the election frenzy while protests against Citizenship Amendment Bill have also gripped the national capital. AAP has been campaigning for the elections with one message – to vote for education and development.

Security forces have been kept on high alert in the national capital. Over 90,000 policemen were deployed at Delhi’s 13,750 polling stations. A statement from the election commission said, “Adequate night stay arrangements for polling staff on duty and due vigilance by expenditure observers needs to be stepped up and stringent action be taken so that electoral atmosphere is not vitiated.”

The election commission has also launched a Booth app for faster voting process by scanning QR codes and will also give advance queue information to voters using Artificial Intelligence. It will also assist polling officials to detect duplicate voting.
