Assam assembly election
results are in favour of the BJP-led NDA with 75 seats, as per the Election Commission website. The Bharatiya Janata Party has managed to overcome the incumbency factor and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) sentiments in Assam assembly elections. The BJP-led NDA alliance has won 75 - BJP won in a total of 60 seats while its ally AGP won or led in nine and the UPPL in six.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal won from the Majuli constituency and was congratulated by major leaders way before EC announced the final results.
