Vikaspuri Assembly Candidate list in Delhi State Election 2020

Mahinder Yadav from AAP, Mukesh Sharma from Congress, Sanjay Singh from BJP and Krishan Thakur from BSP will fight for a Vikaspuri assembly seat in the Delhi election.
The last time the general elections were conducted in Vikaspuri for the Delhi assembly was in 2015. In this election, the winner was AAP candidate Mahinder Yadav. He was also elected from this seat during the earlier election in 2013. In the 2015 election, Mahinder Yadav got 132437 votes. He defeated the BJP candidate Sanjay Singh who got 54772 votes. In 2013 elections, Mahinder Yadav scored 62032 votes and overtook the BJP candidate Krishan Gahlot who got 61627 votes.
Vikaspuri is a prominent state assembly constituency in Delhi. Vikaspuri falls within the jurisdiction of the West Delhi parliamentary seat of Delhi. In this seat, there are 3,25,244 voters and this count includes 1,83,311 males, 1,41,905 females, and 28 third gender electors. Delhi assembly has 70 assembly seats in total. The present five year term of the Delhi assembly will end on 22 February 2020 and the Election Commission has announced general elections in February 2020. Vikaspuri will go for general elections shortly along with the other 69 constituencies to select the next set of MLAs who will form the next government at the Delhi Vidhan Sabha.
In 2008 general elections for the Delhi assembly, Nand Kishore of INC bagged 47819 votes and defeated the BJP candidate Krishan Gahlot who got 46876 votes. The vote margin between them was a very thin number of 943. In the past three elections conducted in Vikaspuri for the Delhi assembly, the BJP candidates came second leaving the seat to either INC or AAP. The vote score of 132437 got by AAP’s Mahinder Yadav in 2015 elections was the highest any candidate could bag from this assembly seat so far.
