Timarpur Assembly Candidate list in Delhi State Election 2020

Dilip Pandey from Aam Aadmi Party, Amar Lata Sangwan from Congress, Surendra Singh Bittu from Bharatiya Janata Party and Umashankar from BSP will fight on Chhatarpur Assembly seat in Delhi Election 2020.
Timarpur is a Vidhan Sabha constituency of Delhi assembly located within the North East Delhi parliamentary constituency. This assembly seat saw its last Vidhan Sabha elections in 2015 and will go for polling in February 2020 to select the next representative for the Delhi assembly as the tenure of the present government will end on 22 February 2010. This electorate has 188956 voters among whom males are 104007, females are 84929 and third gender voters are 20.
In the 2015 assembly elections conducted for the seat, AAP party won from this seat. Pankaj Pushkar from this party got 64477 votes and took over the runner up candidate Rajni Abbi who got 43830 votes. In 2013 general elections, AAP’s Harish Khanna got 39650 votes and won Rajni Abbi of BJP who scored 36267 votes. Hence, AAP has been holding this constituency over the past two full terms right from the inception of the party.
For quite long, Timarpur has been the stronghold of the INC. Right from 1972, INC candidates have been winning from this seat and representing this constituency in the Delhi assembly. However, BJP candidate Rajender Gupta held this seat for a full term from 1993 to 1998. Surinder Pal Singh has been the MLA from this seat who represented this assembly seat over two full terms from 2003 to 2013. During both these terms, he had won the BJP candidates who contested from these constituencies with a slight margin of votes.
