The Gadchiroli – Chimur Lok Sabha constituency comprises of six assembly seats. The list of these seats includes Brahmapuri, Chimur, Amgaon, Armori, Gadchiroli, and Aheri. The first two are general seats and the remaining four including Amgaon, Gadchiroli, Armori and Aheri are earmarked for ST candidates. For the 2019 assembly elections, INC is fielding Vijay Namdevrao Wadettiwar from the Brahmapuri seat. From Chimur seat, Satish Manohar Varjurakar of INC will take on BJP’s Kirtikumar (Bunty) Bhangdiya. From the Amagon constituency Sahasram M Karote of INC will lock horns with BJP’s Sanjay Puram. From the Armori constituency, Anandrao Gedam of INC will contest with BJP’s Krushna D Gajbhe. The candidates for the Gadchiroli seat are INC’s Chanda Nitin Kodawate and BJP’s Devrao Holi. The contestants for the Armori seat are INC’s Anandrao Gedam and BJP’s Krushna D Gajbhe. From the Aheri seat INC is fielding Dipak Atram.
The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled on October 21, 2019 and the results will be out on October 24, 2019.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the winner from the Gadchiroli-Chimur seat was Ashok Mahadeorao Nete of the BJP. He secured 236,870 votes more than Dr. Namdeo Dalluji Usendi of the INC.
In the 2014 general elections for the Maharashtra assembly, Wadettiwar Vijay Namdevrao of the INC secured 13610 votes more than the BJP candidate Atul Devidas Deshkar. From the Chimur seat, Banti Bhangdiya of the BJP won with a margin of 25155 votes taking over INC candidate Dr. Avinash Manoharrao Warjukar. The winner from the Amgaon (ST) seat was Puram Sanjay Hanwantrao of the BJP who overtook the INC candidate Ramratanbapu Bhartrajbapu Raut with a margin of 18295 votes. From the Armori (ST) seat, BJP’s candidate Krushna Damaji Gajbe got 12733 votes more than the runner up of INC’s Anandrao Gagaram Gedam. From the Gadchiroli (ST) seat, Dr. Deorao Madguji Holi of the BJP got 51905 votes more than Atram Bhagyashri Dharmraobaba of the NCP and became the MLA. The winner from the Aheri (ST) seat was Ambrishrao Raje Satyavanrao Atram of BJP who secured 19858 votes more than the NCP candidate Atram Dharmaraobaba.
