Hooda had successfully contested in the 2009 and 2014 elections by defeating Kapoor Singh Narwal of INLD each time. An exit poll conducted by News18-IPSOS has projected that Dutt might lose.
Yogeshwar has no ministerial experience and is contesting for the first time.
He said, “My intention behind joining politics is to serve people. I want to solve problems at the grassroots level and promote the participation of youth in all kinds of sports. I also had the job in police and I served there too. But with politics, I can stay more in touch with what people want."
