A 22-year-old woman in Florida was arrested after she threw a sausage and a can of Coca-Cola at a gas station cashier, according to the local police.
De'Asia Cobb, a store clerk, was at a gas station in Marion County, Florida on October 4 when she and a cashier got into an argument over payment transactions, per a police affidavit seen by Insider.
Cobb and the cashier, who was not named, started exchanging racial slurs, the affidavit said.
That's when the sausage entered the picture.
"The verbal argument continued until the defendant grabbed a sausage using the provided tongs, and threw both the sausage and tongs at the victim," the officer's affidavit said.
The sausage hit the cashier's right wrist and the tongs struck their right leg, after which Cobb exited the store, per the filing.
In response, the cashier grabbed the sausage, followed Cobb outside, and chucked it at her car, the report said.
Cobb then returned to the gas station store, and threw a can of Coke that she had "purchased with the already thrown sausage" at the cashier, the officer wrote.
The cashier dodged the Coke can, and it hit the store countertop instead, per the report.
The owner of the gas station witnessed the exchange, and told Cobb that she had to leave, according to the police affidavit.
But Cobb said she wasn't trespassing, and remained in the store for another five minutes, per the record.
Sheriff's deputies later arrived and spoke to Cobb, the cashier, the gas station owner, and patrons in the store to determine what happened, according to the affidavit.
Cobb was then brought to the Marion County Jail and charged with battery and disorderly conduct, per the police case report seen by Insider.
On August 25, a 64-year-old man in Florida was charged with felony battery in another food-related case, in which he threw a cup of coffee at a McDonald's employee, Insider previously reported.
The man had entered into a heated argument with drive-thru staff, and threw the coffee at a manager who confronted him for his behavior, police said.
