Mississippi authorities arrested a woman who a newlywed couple said arrived at their wedding unannounced, NBC News reports.

The Pontotoc County Sheriff's Department said in an October 2 Facebook post that Sandra Lynn Henson, 57, was arrested by authorities on September 30 at the wedding of Lexi Bolden and Brady Butler.

"Apparently Miss Henson has been arrested in Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi for crashing weddings and stealing money and cards from purses," the post reads.

According to the department, Henson was charged with petit larceny, trespassing, and disturbing the peace. NBC News reported that Henson is out on bond.

Newlyweds Lexi and Brady told NBC News they discovered the uninvited guest at their ceremony when Lexi's sister Sandra spotted Henson in the bridal room.

"When Sandra turned around in the bridal room, she was eating a piece of my cake," Lexi told the outlet.

Lexi told NBC News that Henson initially said she knew the bride.

The wedding coordinator reportedly said $200 was also missing from her purse. Henson initially denied that she stole the money, but later handed over the cash when family members threatened to call the police, according to the outlet.

"From what we understand, she's been charged with [wedding crashing] several times," Pontotoc County Sheriff Leo Mask told NBC News.

One such incident occurred in August 2019 when Henson was arrested in connection to related crimes in Alabama, according to AL.com. She was charged with one misdemeanor count of theft and one felony theft charge after police in Florence, Alabama, asked the public to help identify Henson because she was accused of stealing wedding gifts.

NBC News reported that Henson was also accused of stealing wedding gifts, cash, and gift cards totaling more than $1,000 in Mississippi in 2021. Court records viewed by NBC showed that Henson pleaded guilty to a grand larceny charge and was sentenced to five years probation.

Online records on the Mississippi Department of Corrections website show Henson is on parole until January 2025 for grand larceny and a burglary charge.

The Pontotoc Sheriff's Department, Mississippi Department of Corrections, and the Florence Police Department did not respond to Insider's request for comment.

Insider was unable to locate contact information for the Butlers before publication.

Lexi's other sister, Kristian Joshlin, told NBC News the family is surprised Henson arrived at the ceremony.

"We were in complete shock to find out that she was a serial wedding crasher and had even been dubbed the Mid-South Wedding Crasher," Joshlin said. "We are all still in a state of disbelief that this happened to us."
