  • A World Economic Forum report highlighted the fastest-growing jobs from 2023 to 2027 based on what companies anticipate.
  • AI and machine learning specialist is projected to be the fastest-growing job, per the report.

AI and machine learning specialist is projected to be the fastest-growing job from 2023 to 2027 based on survey results highlighted in the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2023.

These results come from the views of chief human resources and other C-suite workers from 803 companies. They also anticipate robotics engineers to be a fast-growing job from 2023 to 2027.

"The fastest-growing roles relative to their size today are driven by technology, digitalization and sustainability," the report stated.

Sustainability specialists ranked No. 2 and business intelligence analysts ranked No. 3 based on their expected growth given current employment.

The report also notes that many of these types of jobs have dominated fast-growing job rankings for years. This could suggest "structural reconfiguration" for the jobs market "with its roots in technological adoption and automation."

"Global macrotrends and disruptions create an ever-more complex environment for policy-makers, employers and workers to navigate, and uncertainty and volatility remain high," the report stated. "Thus, while, in early 2023, pessimistic predictions regarding the jobs impact of the green transition and generative AI dominate the media headlines, these areas have also been identified as some of the largest drivers of future job creation by Future of Jobs Survey respondents."

While many jobs are expected to see net growth over the next few years based on the hundreds of companies surveyed, millions of jobs could see a net loss.

"Of the 673 million jobs reflected in the dataset in this report, respondents expect structural job growth of 69 million jobs and a decline of 83 million jobs," the report stated. "This corresponds to a net decrease of 14 million jobs, or 2% of current employment."

The following are the 10 fastest-growing jobs from 2023 to 2027 according to different employers from around the world. We included expected global churn and expected employment growth as a share of current employment over the next few years based on WEF's results shared with Insider.
