The outlet studied the number of major corporations headquartered in each region and the number of new businesses being set up in the states.

States like Florida, Texas, and North Carolina were considered to have the best regional economies, while Alaska and West Virginia fell to the bottom of the list.

These are the 10 states with the worst economies, according to the analysis.
