Twenty-seven people have reportedly been airlifted to hospitals, and at least 10 are in critical condition. The driver, Adacia Chambers, 25, has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to Reuters.

The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. CT in Stillwater, Oklahoma, according to Oklahoma newspaper Tulsa World. The car, which was unaffiliated with the parade, was reportedly traveling at a "high rate of speed.""This is the worst thing I've ever seen in my life, outside of the Oklahoma City bombing and 9/11. It's a complete horror," one witness, Geoff Haxton, told the Tulsa World. "We heard somebody scream, 'Look out!.' (He) plowed through a police motorcycle, and then a crowd of people," Dave Kapple of Houston told the Stillwater News Press. "People were flying everywhere.""At first we thought it was part of the show," Konda Walker, a fan from Anchorage, Alaska, told the News Press. "People were flying 30 feet into the air like rag dolls."

Oklahoma State University released a statement calling the incident "tragic."
