PM-designate Narendra Modi Visits Rajghat, Pays Homage To Mahatma Gandhi

Ahead of his swearing-in ceremony today (May 26), Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi visited Rajghat and paid homage to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. He spent about 10 minutes at the memorial.

Several BJP leaders from Delhi, including Harsh Vardhan, Vijay Goel and Vijender Gupta, were also present at the memorial. Modi will be sworn in as the prime minister this evening at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. The mega function will be attended by many foreign dignitaries, including SAARC leaders.

President Pranab Mukherjee will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Modi and his council of ministers. Outgoing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and the party’s vice-president Rahul Gandhi, leaders of various political parties, chief ministers of a number of states and many other dignitaries will also grace the occasion.
